According to Darko's interview yesterday, he talked about being mad about not playing, but he was talking about when he was in Detroit. Remember, English in not his first language so he might sound like he's saying something else sometimes. I believe that he knows BHill's plan and he truly understands that Arroyo is more experienced than he is so he will have more playing time early on.

Darko's gonna be alright whether he plays 20 minutes, 10 minutes, or no minutes tonight. But my guess is that he at least has to come in once in order for his name to be heard on the PA and for the fans to react to him.

It is certainly understandable that Coach Hill would not put Darko in, although it was disappointing to me personnally. He had a chance to steal a win against a good team on their own floor. I believe that he would have been pleasantly surprised if he would have gone with Darko for a few minutes during those 10 point leads, to rest his other players, but he probably did not know that when Darko is on the floor, the lane gets shut down and he manages to get some assists by good passing. He had sat at the end of the bench, essentially, for two seasons, and started the last two games of the season last year. In those two games, he had as I recall, about 25-27 points, more than 10 boards, several assists and blocks, and outplayed his man during both games.

Darko makes a points of being ready and that is why he is angry with his treatment in Detroit. He feels that he was ready like he was told to do but then was not called. I understand his point of view and also can excuse some of it because of his age and inexperience.

And now some half-assed writer from Detroit is publishing poison-pen articles about him after he is gone, probably still trying to justify his being traded. Darko draws a lot of attention and a lot of it is just because he is an enigma. And that is because we have not seen him play during meaningful minutes.

I hope we can all relax and let DMC work his way into the linup and become a good player here on his way to becoming half of a great tandem along with Dwight. I am really looking forward to them playing together.

That, in my opinion, is the point that everyone is missing. Darko does not deserve to come in and have a starting role, or even a large role, at first. He must earn that through hard work in practice and good effort during the game time he gets. He is not exempt from the "bench ladder"... he must work his way up, just like every other young player. I truly believe he will. He will gain himself more and more minutes, and eventually I think he will be a starter in this league. Just because we arent a good team this year doesnt mean were just going to throw him into a starting role. Being a high draft choice guarnatees you nothing but money, I hope he does not lose sight of this. He needs to stay focused, listen to what Hill tells him, and he will find himself having a significant contribution soon enough.

The GMs wont let him not play Darko. They traded for him for a reason. Hill might not want to throw him into the fire like us fans want him to do, but I bet Otis will tell him how it is going to be.

ANd thats why otis is not a coach.

Now that the deadline has passed, and we're playing our first home game with our new boys, there is NO reason why Darko can't get even just 5 minutes of PT tonight.
We all know Arroyo is gonna play, and it's 99.9% certain that Ariza will play.
Why don't you let the kid get his feet wet? Because he doesn't know the system? THERE BASICALLY IS NO SYSTEM. When Darko was in the game in Cleveland, we kept on chipping their lead down.

Yeah! And keep it coming. We need him to play more as he learns the plays.

A little secret. The Pistons never lost a game playing Darko. (just five games this season where Darko was part of the rotation, and the Pistons won all five.) Orlando can still make the playoffs. If Orlando wants to make the playoffs, I suggest they start Arroyo, Dooling, Hill, Howard, Milicic for the rest of the season.

Orlando has some decent bench players coming off the bench right now, and they will add Turk and Nelson back soon. Nelson is a fine backup point guard. No way you want him to start yet as his game is to score much more than to distribute at this point.

Maybe...because..Darko SUCKS?

And is a complaining cancer who doesn't work on his game?
Think for a while. 3 seasons in Motown, 2 coaches and playing for the championship. And Flip always played lousy big men like Nesterovic, garrett, Parks, Kandi Man, etc. He barely played, sometime behind (very old) Elden Campbell or knee-bent McDyess. Even 6'7'' Darvin Ham played some inside ball and don't tell me any of these guys had potential or were any bigtime contributors.

Now in Orlando, looking at the lottery he still doesn't play.3 years in the league looking for potential?

Looks like Dumars got screwed in the draft a few years ago and everyone wants to hide it.
I doubt Darko will become anything more that an Eric Montross or Cherokee Parks. And Montross played well in his first two seasons. Pitty that being a 2nd pick can make you last in the league 10 years averaging 2ppg. Because of a**-covering of the management mistakes and agents' ability to market bad basketball.
