We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. @ ![]() WHERE: Continental Airlines Arena, East Rutherford, N.J. RECORDS: Magic 19-33; Nets 29-23. BROADCASTS: TV -- Sun Sports. Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO); Spanish-language radio: 1030 (WONQ). MAGIC UPDATE: Could be the final game with Orlando for G Steve Francis, if he is traded. The trade deadline is 3 p.m. Thursday. . . . Orlando is looking for its first victory against the Nets this season. The Magic fell 96-85 Dec. 21 at TD Waterhouse Centre behind Vince Carter's 32 points. On Jan. 6, the Magic lost to the Nets 113-106 in New Jersey, and Carter had 31. . . . Magic Coach Brian Hill served as an assistant in New Jersey for one-plus season and was born in East Orange, N.J. NETS UPDATE: New Jersey leads the Atlantic Division and is 17-7 at home -- one of the better records in the Eastern Conference. . . . Carter, a former star at Daytona Beach's Mainland High, came into Tuesday's action 13th in scoring in the NBA, averaging 23.7 points. . . . PG Jason Kidd was sixth in assists at 7.7 per game. . . . The Nets beat the Milwaukee Bucks 89-85 Tuesday. Carter had 45 points, and Kidd had a triple-double. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Can the Magic do anything with Carter? They'll not only have to monitor Carter but must get back on defense when Kidd has Carter and Richard Jefferson on the wings. Beating the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena has become a nearly impossible task. The Nets are 13-1 at home since mid-December, and look extend that dominance as they host the struggling Orlando Magic. New Jersey's home surge has included quality wins over the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat. The Nets only home loss since Dec. 14 was an 83-73 defeat on Feb. 10 to the defending champion San Antonio Spurs. The home-court success also has kept the Nets ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic Division. The margin increased to 3 1/2 games after an 89-85 victory at Milwaukee on Tuesday. The victory was New Jersey's second straight on the road after seven losses in a row. Vince Carter scored 45 points Tuesday, including New Jersey's final 14 of the game to help the Nets snap a 10-game losing streak at the Bradley Center. "When the scorer is going like that, you've got to get him the ball," said Jason Kidd, who had 12 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds for his 71st career triple-double. "He puts so much pressure on the defense." The Magic have dropped seven straight on the road, where they will play six of their next eight games. Orlando lost for the seventh time overall and 11th time in 12 games after falling 105-92 on Tuesday to Cleveland. Dwight Howard had 23 points and 14 rebounds Tuesday night and Steve Francis, believed to be on the trading block possibly to the New York Knicks, added 13 points in 27 minutes. "They've been speculating for a long time," he said. "If it happens, it happens. I can't control it. I have to go out and play every night." The Magic lost forward Hedo Turkoglu to a sprained left ankle midway through the third quarter. Turkoglu, who is averaging 14.1 points, will have an MRI exam Wednesday and is doubtful for this game. Howard, the second-year power forward who turned 20 in December, has led the Magic with a 16.9 scoring average in the last 12 contests to push his season average to 15.6. |

I'm hoping Arroyo can start. A real PG FINALLY, To bad they couldn't just bench steve and start Arroyo the whole game, He would actually win games for us with his passing and DECISION MAKING. |

I see Arroyo starting, but I don't know who the starting SF will be. They may have to go small at the guards spot, put in Keyon and Arroyo, and move Stevenson to the SF position. Or, start Darko at the SF. Or maybe start Augmon. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Craig |

I'm a Maloof, whether I like it or not. I'm apparently related to the Maloof Brothers somehow, but I've never met them. Craig |

With Steve gone, Penny waived, Bo back on the team, G-Hill, Jameer and Hedo injured, and Ariza frantically trying to get to Jersey in time, I don't know what to say. I want to believe that both Darko (at SF) and Carlos will start. I can see PG or DeShawn starting at SF. ![]() How kick-a** would it be to win on the day we trade Stevie.
