Magic Head Coach Brian Hill:
"I thought this was a real good win for our team tonight. Obviously with the little losing streak we were in but with also against a quality opponent who hadn't lost a road game to an Eastern Conference team yet this year. So I was very happy with the way our guys played. I thought the biggest thing was offensively we shared the basketball, we moved the ball, we had 15 assists and 6 turnovers at the half. We didn't do as good a job in the third quarter. I thought we got a little stagnant in the third quarter but we came back and finished the game the right way. When we moved the ball we got good shots and as a result, shot a high percentage. I thought our ball movement and shot selection was very good. I thought that a couple of guys did great jobs defensively, especially DeShawn Stevenson on Michael Redd, held him to a 4-16 shooting night. TJ Ford got up 19 shots but only made 6 of them. He's extremely hard to keep in front. Our shot distribution was good, our ball movement was good and it resulted in a very good win."
(On if Orlando is a Jekyll and Hyde team): "I can't answer that. We've had our ups and downs but we haven't become yet the team that we're capable of becoming. Tonight, to me, is an indicator that we're able to be a good team we just have to do certain things on a consistent basis to be a good team. We still aren't taking advantage of fast break situations the way I would like to. We squandered away at least 4 fast breaks tonight that I can think of right off the top of my head. Aside from that, I thought we played pretty good basketball tonight."
(On slashing to the basket): "We always try to do that. We put an emphasis on that but it's not that we always get it done. Grant had a good night 10-15 from the floor, Dwight was big on the glass with 15 rebounds. They're a tough team to match up with. They present match up problems because they play those small lineups and they play (Tony) Kukoc at four and I thought with Hedo in the game, playing at the four spot, we just decided to match to them and that really kinda reduced his effectiveness compared to the last time we played them. As I said I thought the guys did a good job."
(On attacking the basket): "I thought we had a little spring in our step tonight. I felt good this morning in shoot-around for a team that was in the midst of a 3-game losing streak. We came into shoot-around today, we had good attitudes, guys were of the right mindset, they were focused in at shoot-around and it was reflected in our play tonight. It's just something that we just strive to be a little bit more consistent on in everything."
(On if the team worked on improving anything particular): "We didn't practice yesterday with it being Christmas Day. The previous day's practice, Christmas Eve, we just tried to concentrate on four or five plays offensively and our execution in those plays which are a lot of the plays we run down the stretch in the fourth quarters. But we do that on a fairly consistent basis. Hopefully it's just registering with guys."
