NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Player(s) of the game:

Garrity and Turk!

If they can hit those 3's like that consistently, Howard and Battie will have a party in the paint.

Great win!

Let's hope that Garrity's touch is not a 1-game affair. We need that against Dallas next game.

Hill makes season debut as Magic top Knicks

Dwight Howard helped Grant Hill make a smooth return to the lineup.

Howard had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Hill scored seven in his season debut as the Orlando Magic snapped a three-game road losing streak with a 105-90 victory over the New York Knicks.

A seven-time All-Star, Hill started in his first game since undergoing surgery for a sports hernia October 31. He played nearly 23 minutes and capped a 29-15 second quarter with a 3-pointer from the right corner at the buzzer that gave the Magic a 54-39 halftime lead.

After the Knicks opened the third quarter with a 12-4 run, Howard scored eight of the next 10 points for Orlando and Jameer Nelson added consecutive jumpers for a 72-62 edge.

Entering the game 29th in in the NBA in offense, the Magic pulled away in the fourth quarter with accurate shooting from the arc. Pat Garrity and Hedo Turkoglu hit three 3-pointers apiece in the period, when Orlando led by as many as 21 points.

Turkoglu scored 18 points and Garrity added 17 for the Magic, who set a season high in points and reached the century mark for just the third time this season.

For the second consecutive game, the Knicks were victimized by 3-point shooting. They allowed Orlando to make 11-of-18 from the arc after surrendering a dozen 3-pointers to Milwaukee on Monday.

Eddy Curry scored 23 points and Quentin Richardson had a season-high 16 for the Knicks, who have dropped six of their last seven games.

Awesome. Hedo & Pat were the stars. The bench helped us so much. However, we have to realise this was only New York. Now we have to aim higher if we want to get to the playoffs.

I was only able to catch the last few minutes of the game, but I watched NYC's highlights and also ESPN's. Great win, Hill's back, and on a side note, it was nice checking out the site and seeing 100+ replies on the game thread. Also, Hedo seemed to play much better coming off the bench, which most of us expected. Kudos to Air Garrity as well.

It was an all around good night for Magic fans. :)
