WHAT - Orlando Magic(7-10) vs Chicago Bulls(8-8)

WHEN - 12/7, 7:00 PM

WHERE - TD Waterhouse Centre

TV - CSNC, SUN

ROAD/HOME RECORDS - Bulls - 4-5 on the road; Magic - 4-5 at home

LAST MEETING - Nov. 29; Bulls, 85-76. At Chicago, Hinrich had 20 points and 14 assists and Luol Deng added 21 points to give the Bulls their fourth straight win

------------------------------------------

PROBABLE STARTERS

Bulls - F Nocioni, F Sweetney, C Chandler, G Gordon, G Duhon
Magic - F Turkoglu, F Howard, C Battie, G Stevenson, G Francis

------------------------------------------

The Chicago Bulls likely will be without starting point guard Kirk Hinrich as they try to make it five straight wins over the Orlando Magic when the teams meet at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

Hinrich, third on the team with 12.7 points per game, sustained a concussion and a bruised jaw three minutes into Chicago's 102-94 loss to Dallas on Monday after taking an elbow to the face from the Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki. Although a CT scan came back normal, Hinrich did have some memory problems and isn't expected to play Wednesday.

Ben Gordon scored 26 points to lead the Bulls, who have lost three of four after winning a season-best four in a row.

Chicago has allowed 100 points or more seven times this season and have won only two of those games.

"We're just not guarding anybody," guard Chris Duhon said. "If we keep allowing teams to shoot a high percentage and score 100 points, we're going to lose a lot of games."

Another area of concern for the Bulls is center Tyson Chandler, who had two points and seven rebounds Monday. He has been bothered lately by a respiratory problem that he has said is causing fatigue. Chandler is taking medication and is scheduled to have his lung re-examined Thursday.

Without Hinrich, Gordon will be asked to carry even more of the offensive load. He leads the team with 15.5 points per game, scoring 21.8 in his past four contests. He has never scored more than 18 points in four career games against Orlando.

The Bulls have won three straight in Orlando and seven of the last eight meetings overall.

The Magic couldn't contain Tim Duncan and lost their fourth straight, 110-85 to San Antonio on Monday.

Duncan, who had 26 points and 12 rebounds, had high praise for Orlando's Dwight Howard, who earned his 13th double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Howard is averaging 14.4 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.

"I'm very old," said Duncan. "I was looking at it before the game and I'm something like 9 1/2 years older than (Howard). That's crazy. ... He doesn't look like a 19-year-old. He's got so much promise. I'm just glad I'll be out of the league when he's peaking."

Magic leading scorer Steve Francis has missed three straight games due to a bruised chest, but is expected to return Wednesday.

Jameer Nelson has started in Francis' absence and led the Magic with 20 points in each of the last two games.

I'm leaning towards a victory here. Francis should return, Hinrich appears to be out, and the game is at home. We competed with these guys really well last time on the road on the second night of a back-to-back, but exhausion appeared to eventually be the Magic's downfall.

Edit: Ok, here's some new info:

Quote:

When Hill does return, the Magic will be at least close to being whole for the first time this season. Injuries have undermined a new start under a new coach. Point guard Steve Francis, who has missed the past three games because of a chest injury, practiced Tuesday and will play tonight.

However, guard Keyon Dooling isn't expected to return for at least another week and a half. And back-up center Kelvin Cato has a sprained his right ankle and is questionable against the Bulls. Hedo Turkoglu has replaced Hill in the lineup and averaged 13.5 points, but is better suited coming off the bench.

Good, good, good....Francis will be playing. And Dooling should be back in a couple of games...

Whos backing up Battie? Will there be a Kasun sighting? I think Orlando should give more PT to Morris instead of Garrity, what about Outlaw?

Revenge game tonight. We should play desperate and get the win. We really played pretty darn good Monday, but we ran out of gas and the Spurs got really, really hot.

Dwight Howard = MVP
The bulls are on a 2 game losing streak so hopefully we can extend that to 3. Since its francis first game back i think we can pull out a win. Howard should have a big game since the bulls dont have a good big man to play D on him. CMON MAGIC!!!!

With Francis back to energize our lineup, and Hinrich out on their side I really like our chances tonight. Look for Stevie to have a big game and an energized home crowd.

Nice NYCMagicfan

I noticed that we started our losing streak when your highlights stop. Coincidence? I think not. Could be the karma we need to pull out a much needed win tonight.

Bad start at the FT line from Howard. The Bulls are doing a foul-a-Dwight strategy tonight?
