We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. I think the Bull's are going to struggle to unload him and the contract, if any team has any interest they should just wait, I can see him being released. The Bulls pay off his contract, and his price to the team that signs him is much lower. TT looks like a basketball player, and has had flashes of solid play in his career, but I agree that Orlando should run the other way....he is not needed here. The Magic do have some roster issues looming, and since I am never one to run away from pissing people off around here I think that a critical eye needs to be turned to one Grant Hill. When Grant comes back this team changes, and will the changes be positive? I submit... Grant is a poor defender, not what he once was. We saw that last year. Perhaps its the ankle limiting movement, perhaps it was Johnny Davis style of play, but Grant was one of the reasons that the Magic were a horrid defensive team (one of several I will admit). At this early stage will the return of Hill damage the defensive game that has kept the Magic in games, games that they were able to win? And if it does, is Orlando ready to cut ties with Grant? Hill could be a useful trading chip. He is max salary, has only two years left on the deal and lets face it, Grant Hill is the face of the frustration every Magic fan has faced since he signed here. Just for grins, (and I by no means endorse any of these trades, nor am I sure that the teams involved have any interest in Grant or like in the case of KG, parting ways with the player mentioned) lets look at some of the current players with big, long term deals that their teams may want to dump. Marbury-Not a Larry Brown kinda guy. KG-Wow...now I am dreaming Lamar Odom-Grant and Kobe...that would be interesting. Dampier-Washout in Dallas. Paul Pierce-Who knows what is up with him? Carlos Boozer-Utah has not agreed with him. Tis is just something to ponder....at best Grant's shelf life is short, his contract shorter and perhaps he can still do something to help the Magic be a better team for years to come..... Let the flaming start.... Brutal |

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/

I would take KG or Kobe for Grant's contract... The others I wouldn't... Specially Marbury and Boozer! They're lik cancers to the teams ![]() |

brutal theres no flaming here. you just simply expressed your opinion. i actually said something similar to what you said in a different thread. im just hoping that grant hill will not ruin the team chemistry or not fit into the system. im having similar doubts about him, brutal. so youre not alone there. we just have to wait and see what happens before we talk about trading him. he may fit in perfectly, we dont know. we can make all the educated guesses we want, but we'll never know for sure until he plays. |

I dont have any concern about Hill. His defense is better, or at least on par with Turks, so I dont see how he wont fit into the defensive system. He is also a more consistent offensive player capable of putting up 17 points with over 50% shooting. If Turk is fitting in this system, I cant see how Grant wont. Its not like Turk is lighting it up. As for trading him, there are a few I would consider, but in the end I would just like his contract to expire, then resign him for the minimum or something. |

Grant isn't a defensive liability, You want to talk about defensive (and offensive for tha matter) Liabilities Lets talk about Garrity. Grant is a better defender than Turk and turk is playing pretty good "D" this year. I think Grant will fit in fine with this system when he comes back. Although I wouldn't mind dumping his contract for a guy or two if they think we could contend this year. If not then just wait it out until his contract expires. I love Grant and I will always hope he can come back strong and countribute, but it has been a huge frustration these last few years. With his injury, the bad drafts, bad personel decisions, and now he has this hernia thing. There are going to be alot of good free agents after this year, Including Rashard Lewis who announced that he will test the free agent waters after this year according to NBA Tv, So if it'll help the team I'm all for dumping his contract so we could land some good free agents either after this year or next. I can't recall Thomas being a softy by the way. I think he's a good 6'10 perimeter defender and he can hit the long ball. <_< But I can see what your talking about in regards to his hefty contract. We can land a better player(s). |

Dwight Howard = MVP

I agree with that. But there is a chance that he could disrupt the chemistry but it would prolly be just for a while til he starts to fit in. |

Im kinda liking our team for once. I think if we keep this nucleus together we should be good now and VERY good after this year if free agency goes well. |

Mr. Anderson

Yeah I agree. No big changes. We should draft better in 06 and keep the core, and just add a few pieces (SF or a C). |
