http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic Rookie center Mario Kasun said that Weisbrod told him he'll be part of the group of "core" players who will return for sure. The others are Hill, Turkoglu, Steve Francis, Tony Battie, Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. DeShawn Stevenson likely will return. So does it mean that these guys may not return? Cato, Augmon, Hunter, Garrity, DQ, Christie, Barrett, Jones |

I TOTALLY agree with the "core" guys we'll be keeping. ![]() DeShawn isn't a lock of staying here because teams saw how well he played as a starter and might want a piece of him. Now as of now we're gonna be looking to package Cato, Christie, Garrity, and Augmon if need be, but only for a deal that makes our team a lot better. JW won't trade Christie because he's not happy, JW will torture DC on our bench if he has too. ![]() I think Barrett, Jones, and B-Hunt (We'll probably bring them back for Summer League and keep 2 of those guys on our roster) will leave and find other NBA rosters because they played well for us and other teams will want to sign them. Nice to see we did these guys favors in playing them. ![]() Now as for DeClerq, I love The Hammer a lot and the energy he brings off the bench. I don't know how he'll rehab this 2nd time on his injury, but if he can be healthy, he and Kasun can bang guys around next year and waste some of their fouls for us. Now the backlash to that is because Kasun is kind of like Hammer, JW might trade DQ. Well, we'll find out what JW will do. I have complete faith in our "hockey guy".

I agree with Weisbrod's "core group" of players, but not so much with Kasun. Sure, I would want him back, but I don't think he should be considered a lock... Out of the list of guys not "guaranteed" to be back (and I use that term very loosely in today's NBA), the only one I would really like to see back is Cato. I think he's a good big man off the bench, and he doesn't complain about playing time. He seems like a good guy to have in the locker room. |

Cato is so/so with me. If he just continues to be lazy, then trade him. If we get that all important good coach, Cato becomes very valuable and exactly the center to put next to Dwight. We are in good shape if that Cato from the start of the year is there for the full year. He was getting like 2.5 blocks and 8.5 rebounds. I also agree with the core players. I want Mario to return. We may want to take one more look at Hunter in the summer. Barrett is pretty good, he should get another look. I wouldn't be quick to trade Garrity, although the guy is injury prone recently. If Dwight is that good next season, where he starts getting doubled, Garritys value then gets higher. |

I would give my left nut to have Cato back, but the Magic already have a good quick rebounder/blocker in DW, but ask Cato to score and it's like asking the pope to be a pimp...it isnt gonna happen... It's funny how you dont konw how valuable a player is before he's gone.. I like the overall core though.. |

Cato can suprisingly score. The guy has range, can hit 15 footers and is usually good from the free throw line. Suprisingly soft touch for a big man. He isnt someone to rely on, but when he wants to and is active he can put up points. This whole thing with Cato is that he is a great center when he wants to be. But we need a coaching staff that will keep him on his toes (and the rest of the team for that matter). Imagine Cato under Larry Brown or Rick Carlisle, he wouldnt be this lazy that is for sure. |

im with you adam. and i think that its a good choice to bring back kasun. i like him. and he is a good little boost (and foul picker-upper), off the bench. and... i also like hunter, he is a good hustle player and he is not bad. i think we should keep him. but if we can trade him for someone else than thats cool too. BTW, i was looking at the players in a mock draft, and isnt there is alot of good players? i think so, im not sure. but i cant wait till the draft to see who the magic get and who other teams pick up. |

I love the core group, but Cato is third in the L in T's I dont think we need any more of that 'cough" cough" "Steve Francis". I love steveo but he needs to calm down when he doesent get his call. |
