I saw this on the Scout.Com Magic Board. I thought it was a joke, but everyone responded like it was true. Anybody that reads ESPN Magazine seen this??

Its kind of hard to believe players would come out and say this.

Quote:

This is from ESPN the Mag...this week's version.

Stevenson:

"We would be in the playoffs if Cuttino were here."

Dwight:

"He showed me a lot in a short time. He brought so much energy, our locker room just changed when he left"

Of course....Francis:

After the writer mentions Cat had 30/5/4/3 blks Francis says, "Thats what Cuttino brings. And we had him."

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
I remember people saying I wasn't very smart for saying that the trade was simply s**t and would ruin the season! (I said it in the minute after it was announced...). I remember watching the announcement in the break of some game and the Portuguese commentators were like: "WTF?? How is this trade even possible??"...
But then some people began saying it would be a good trade, we needed DCs defense, blablabla...

Hate to say it, but I told you so.

Well I was wrong about the trade. I thought Christie might be able to give this team a shred of defense and he didn't even do that. We got robbed in that deal.

Right from the horses mouth people.... JW IS A DUMBASS!!! The whole front office needs to be cleared out...Dont blame this on the injuries, look at what New Jersey and Indiana are doing this year... JW the dumbass, even gave Davis more years after doing nothing in the first place...

Not hardly. Remember JW is also the one that drafted the future of this team: Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. Those moves alone completely cancel out any other questionable decisions. I don't know how many other GM's would have made those choices and unless something drastic happens, those were the best draft decisions in Magic History (Except the Shaq pick of course). And I believe that picking up Turk was also a good move for JW. And he did get Francis in exchange for T-Mac. If he hadn't traded T-Mac he would have just left in FA and we would have got nothing in return.

It's true that he didnt do a bad job bulding for the future, but I could have picked two players that would have got the job done with the picks he had... The problem with JW is he killed this years chances of getting into the playoffs, how long are you people gonna be happy getting loto picks and blaming "other problems" for not getting the job done?? I know it said around the NBA the current owner of the Magic doesnt really care about the team, but COMEON... GET A NEW FRONT OFFICE AND WIN SOME GAMES!!! Most of you were so quick to blame Davis..fine, but who gave him the 2 more years on his contract and then held off to fire him WAYYYY PAST the allstar game?? Get real people, the players are saying it to now... there's a problem and the front office is to blame this year... You had trade bait of a superstar a number 1 draft pick, a HIGH first round pick, a ALLSTAR coming in and a star player coming back and all you get this year is 36 wins???? To me the problem is clear as day, IT'S THE GM!! I have never seen a GM speaks out as much as JW. Does this guy think he is the coach or something? When have you seen Jerry West, Carroll Dawson or Larry Bird have as much interviews a year as JW? Hell JW will have a presser to wade through the "Doug Christie situation?"

Kobe Bryant has situations. Shaq had situations. Eddy Curry has situations. Washed-up, PW'd 35-year old guards from Pepperdine don't have "situations."

FIRE JW!!!

During the draft, it was obvious that the Bobcats were after Okafor. They were practically begging us for them to be able to pick Okafor. If I was JW, I would have used that to get an additional pick or something from the Bobcats. Instead he just told them we are picking Dwight with the 1st pick. He could have taken advantage of our number 1 pick, and gotten even more.

Well, as of today it isnt looking good... Unless you're talking about Eric Musselman....

ORLANDO - Orlando Magic general manager John Weisbrod says he has been deluged with calls from prospective coaches both from the professional and college levels, but curiously he has yet to hear from the representatives of Phil Jackson and Flip Saunders.

McGrady and Howard... What could have been
What Did I tell you...... He is going to make us not have any good coaches.......... If we treat Johnny Davis like that................. how do you expect to win............ And its not Johnny Davis's fault he had a good team that had a good start........ 18-14 you cant say johnny davis did anything bad..... It wasnt his fault the team was playing defence it isnt his fault the francis went to his birthday party than go to the practice......... No, He tried to keep the peace but everyone was not in sync, He tried but no one listened and this is what they get for doing this.....................

Injuries are why this team is not in the playoffs.IF Hill and the Turk were still healthy I could almost gurantee you the magic would be sitting in 7 or 8 right now or at least still have a fighting chance for the last playoff spot.IT seems like you guys forgot that we lost a lot of scoring in those 2 guys on this thread.

Yeah the mobley deal was bad,but let you remind all of you that I also would seriously doubt whether or not the magic would Pay him the money he would want to want to make him stay in ORL.Who knows he might have taken under his marketvalue since he's good friends with francis, but what if he wants more money than they can give him. That's the other scenario.Gut feeling tells me that he might have stayed in ORL b/c of francis and cato, but the magic didn't want to take the risk and yeah they're paying for it in old baggage like christie.I'm hoping that they'll just release or trade both christie/garrity for a player who has a contract that will open up cap space. But then again I don't know a player currently out there that is so bad that those two would be able to get a deal done.Scott Pollard has a big contract but I think his is up after this year, just one guy who would be valued just about the same as though two.Plus I was hoping battie would decide to opt out of his contract, but I don't think it would have opened up that much cap space for the magic anyway. At least he still seems to be durable.
