We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. @ ![]() Orlando Magic (35-43) at Chicago Bulls (44-34) Game Info: 8:30 pm E.D.T, Fri Apr 15, 2005 TV: SUNS, CSNC PROBABLE STARTERS: Magic - F Dwight Howard, F Stacey Augmon, C Tony Battie, G Nelson or Stevenson, G Steve Francis Bulls - F Antonio Davis, F Andres Nocioni, C Othella Harrington, G Chris Duhon, G Kirk Hinrich. INJURIES: Magic - C Cato (back); G Stevenson (personal); F Garrity (personal); F Grant Hill (shin); G-F Hedo Turkoglu (wrist); G Doug Christie (ankle); C Andrew DeClercq (knee). Bulls - C Curry (heart); G-F Luol Deng (wrist); G Frank Williams (groin) One day after learning they will be without leading scorer Eddy Curry for the rest of the season, the Chicago Bulls continue their battle for home-court advantage in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs when they host the Orlando Magic. On Thursday, Chicago learned that Curry will miss the rest of the season - including the team's first playoff appearance since 1998 - because of an irregular heartbeat. Curry, the No. 4 pick in the 2001 draft, has been sidelined since March 30 with the heart ailment after he felt dizzy and lightheaded right before tip-off for a game in Charlotte. Curry, who made the jump from high school in suburban Chicago to the pros, started 60 games for the Bulls this season, averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and shooting 54 percent in nearly 29 minutes per game. "We are being cautious with this thing," Bulls general manager John Paxson said. "We have to do whatever we possibly can to eliminate any possible concern before we put him back on the floor." Chicago had its lead for fourth place and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs reduced to one game over both Indiana and Washington on Wednesday night. The Bulls lost 93-82 to the Wizards while the Pacers beat the Nets 90-86. Orlando officially dropped out of playoff contention when Philadelphia beat Miami 126-119 in overtime. The Magic lost their fifth straight Wednesday, 103-94 to the Detroit Pistons. "We're not even thinking about the playoffs right now," said Magic rookie Jameer Nelson, who scored a season-high 30 points. "We've got to find a way to just win another game somewhere." Magic starting guard DeShawn Stevenson and reserve forward Pat Garrity missed the game to attend the birth of children. Kelvin Cato didn't play because of a sore back. "We are short-handed, and we are playing with a great deal of effort," Orlando coach Chris Jent said. "At the same time, we have to win a ball game. I believe that the people we have on the floor are capable of winning basketball games. We need to show that we can do that." |

Wow. It's good to see we brought our offense to Chicago tonight. We've got 20 points with 7:34 left in the FIRST HALF. |

That game was flat out embarrasing to watch. I could have got my grandma, 2 year old nephew, and 2 bums out of the woods, and we would have gave the bulls a better game. My Grandma has a much better jumper then that pu*sy Augman, my 2 year old nephew would have cried much less then Francis. Then I would have the 2 bums would just stand there with thier hands in the air, and that would be better defense then the crap we played last night. |
