We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Well, there goes any chance we had at a .500 record. I just don't understand how this team is so bad that we can't even win these type of games anymore. Sure, Hill and Turk are out, but are guys like Francis and Howard not enough? Is the great play of Stevenson as of late not enough? I guess its just that are bench is so depleted now that we can't close out these games in the end. |

Dwight was 10-14 from the floor, we should have given him more shots when he's that hot. |

Exactly, give the rock to Howard at every possible play. Give the kid the confidence he needs for next season. Besides he is one of the few efficient scoring option we have right now. |

Don't forget Christie too ![]() I think your last sentence right there sums it up. For the most part we have played right with our opponents the past 4 or 5 games. But we just haven't been deep enough to have enough juice left at the end. |

McGrady and Howard... What could have been
|
I dont know what wrong with the team....... Maybe what happened or something.... We should of had an over .500 hundred season...... But the coaches arent keeping the team the together........ I think We need to get a better coach not make a move on the team except get Mobley Back and release Christie...... But maybe get a coach to keep the team together.............. I have seen it closes. The Coach is not rounding up the troops to comeup with a plan, And calm them down...... So the Top of our list is to get A TOP COACH IN THE NBA!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Chris Jent's Post-Game Quotes April 11, 2005 Orlando Magic 106 Cleveland Cavaliers 114 Chris Jent: On Cleveland's offensive rebounds: "Situations like that it really hurts. LeBron (James) got hot early so we had to doubling him earlier in the game than we wanted to. When you do that you put basically two bigs on the boards when you have one defending the two and the other one running back from a double team. That is a weakness and that's the type of presence that a great type player presents. By having to double people, you have to rotate and sometimes you get bit." On the loss: "It hurts really bad, there's no doubt about that. It's really disappointing. I know our guys are very disappointed. We played early with so much energy, they threw that zone at us for three-quarters of the game, we handled the zone well. We hurt ourselves at times with turnovers and offensive rebounds so it really hurts when you feel like you beat yourselves and not a time just took it from you. It's very disappointing and it certainly hurts." On Orlando's 24 turnovers: "I think the situation creates a little bit. Maybe trying a little bit too hard. Trying to make the home-run plays instead of staying basic, staying solid, moving the ball to the open man. Not trying to make the pass to the guy two passes away, the home-run pass and just staying solid. At times overly aggressive. But when play that kind of pace of game, when you're pressing and you're running, you certainly run the risks of turnovers." On Orlando's early offense in the first half: "Well, you gotta leave guys on the vine out there sometimes. We're going with guys who are logging heavy minutes and we're playing the entire court. We're pressing at times, we're trying to push the ball, so sometimes fatigue. But when you have the turnovers that we had tonight, it deflates you. We had so many defensive stops and at the other end we turn the ball over. That wears you out, it makes you tired. It's tough to come back after that, the next possession. But we did and that's what these guys do. They just keep fighting." [BOX SCORE] [STANDINGS: 35-42] |

This was one of the few Magic games I got to see this year, after getting to watch them play what they call "DEFENCE" it's no wonder why they are this bad... JW needs to bring in a coach that stresses defence and scoring second, I dont think P Jackson will help YET... this team needs time to grow before Phill would do it much good... I would say Flip or Paul would be a good fit both seem to get along well with young players too and that would be great for this team... |
