We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

I said 10 point loss, ours was 12. I got the gist. Well, once again out partyin on a friday night, got to read all the posts, and I gotta say Walton sounded like a jackass. He ALWAYS pretty much just favors the more popular team, this is known, but as far as blatantly making fun of a team that is uncalled for. Granted, we are an AWFUL team right now, and would insert the bloated corpse of Naismith into the lineup if we could, but still.. |

The thing is we didn't look aweful tonight at all. There was really one stretch there in the 3rd quarter where Detriot got really hot, and that was really the difference in the game. I'd say 75% of the game we played right with them. And we ALMOST made it interesting with about 4 or 5 minutes left in the game. Let me put it this way, if we had Hill tonight, I think we come away with a win. If nothing else he would have been another healthy body out there giving some minutes. The team played really hard tonight and never gave up. So don't let that 12 point win fool you. It was a hard faught victory for........the world champions

VS ![]() Chris Jent's Post-Game Quotes April 8, 2005 Orlando Magic 102 Detroit Pistons 114 Chris Jent: "They just played it at an even pace. Nothing that we did changed the way in which they approached the game. They're a 48-win team and they played like it tonight. I told the team, when you're playing in these situations, you have to play you're A+ game – A game. You have to be clicking on all cylinders. And we were not tonight and they're going to exploit that. And they did." On getting Dwight the ball more: "When we run plays for him, we run plays to get him on weak side action. Problem is, with a team like this, is when you just try to go direct post to Dwight, they push him out far enough where he now becomes a mid-range player. So, we were trying to slice him in there, set picks away and allow him to roll into the post. I think we tried to get it to him a few times and we had a couple turnovers, a couple drops, whatever, but I think if all of that was clean you would have had him 16 shots. But, late in the game, we're not going to post the ball. We were just trying to score as many points as we possibly could and that was for a long time – like eight minutes in the ball game. I think in a traditional game where we're closer, a tighter game, he definitely would have had more touches." What is your message to the team: "My message tonight was 'we're professionals, this is our living and you have to have a great amount of pride right now. And that pride has to carry you into a situation that looks bleak, and maybe we're mathematically out of it, whatever it may be, but we have to play to win. It's our job to do it. It's our obligation and that's the way we need to play'." [BOX SCORE] [STANDINGS: 35-41] |
