NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Chicago Bulls (41-32) at Orlando Magic (35-39)

Game Info: 7:00 pm EDT Wed Apr 6, 2005
TV: CSNC, SUNS

PROBABLE STARTERS

Bulls - F Nocioni, F Antonio Davis, C Jared Reiner, G Hinrich, G Chris Duhon.

Magic - F Stacey Augmon, F Dwight Howard, C Tony Battie, G Stevenson, G Francis.

INJURIES

Bulls - G Frank Williams (groin); C-F Curry (heart); F Deng (wrist).

Magic - G Jameer Nelson (ribs); F Hedo Turkoglu (wrist); G Doug Christie (ankle); C Andrew DeClercq (knee).

Despite their first loss in 10 games and mounting injuries, the Chicago Bulls look to resume their postseason push when they visit the struggling Orlando Magic.

The Bulls opened a three-game road trip with a 104-86 defeat on Tuesday to the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat. The loss snapped Chicago's longest winning streak since Michael Jordan's final championship season seven years ago.

However, the Bulls are still on track to earn their first playoff berth since 1998. Chicago remains tied for fourth place in the East with Washington, which also lost 116-108 to Boston on Friday. The top four seeds get homefield advantage in the first round.

Andres Nocioni and rookie Ben Gordon scored 14 points each for Chicago, which was forced to use its 12th different starting lineup of the season as injuries continue. Leading scorer Eddy Curry missed his fourth straight game with an irregular heartbeat while rookie Loul Deng was placed on the injured list before the game with a season-ending wrist injury.

The Bulls are also missing the inside presence of Othella Harrington. The 6-foot-9 center did not travel with the team to remain with his wife, who's expecting a child.

Guard Kirk Hinrich, hampered by a sore left hamstring lately, was 0-for-7 from the field in 16 minutes for the Bulls, who posted their fifth-worst shooting performance of the year (36.4).

Chicago struggled to contain Miami, allowing the Heat to shoot 54.4 percent from the field and score over 100 points for the first time in 11 games. The Bulls, who allowed a season-high 38 first-quarter points, entered the game leading the league in field goal percentage defense (.420) and ranked seventh in scoring defense (93.4 points per game).

"We just didn't play up to par," said Gordon. "We were more frustrated with ourselves than anything."

Orlando took a hit to its playoff chances with a 114-105 loss to Dallas on Tuesday. DeShawn Stevenson scored a career-high 29 points and Steve Francis had 16 points and 11 assists for the Magic, who fell 1½ games behind Philadelphia for the final playoff spot in the East.

Orlando, which was without Grant Hill (sore left shin) for a second straight game, has a tough schedule left. Seven of their remaining eight games are against playoff contenders.

The Bulls have won eight of the last 12 meetings, including five of the last seven at home.

I think we will win tonight. And if we don't, well at least this year was better than last year :). Offseason preperations can begin and I guess I won't be nearly as disapointed as I thought I would be. The future is bright for this team and hopefully the future for this team IN ORLANDO is even brighter.

I think we have to win all three games during this homestand to go to the playoffs. If we lose two we are done and if we lose 1 we are probably delaying the inevitable. I think we will win tonight. I like Battie starting and stevenson is picking up the scoring that we havent had at the two since CAT left. Oh yea Jameer continues to play well.

Prediction is going to be a close game. But......... Bulls pull a 5 point lead and they use a 10-2 run to win the game in the last 4:00 minutes in the game

Bulls 105 Magic:100
Ben Gordan 21 points 5 assist 2 rebounds
Francis 19 points 7 assist 6 rebounds

the magic can win this game.Curry,Hinrich, and Gordon are going to do some damage on offense, but u can't let nocioni and their other bench/role players score that much.U guys didn't realistically think the magic would actually beat the mavs last night, with hill out did u???????They can beat the bulls though. The magic gotta d up though and keep it on the offensive end.Stevenson had 29 last night, career high for him.Looks like he's probably earned himself a spot on the roster next year unless trade circumstances develop.
