We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors vs. ![]() What: Regular Season Game #68 Where: TD Waterhouse Centre When: March 30, 7:00 PM Broadcast: TV -- SunSports, Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Orlando Magic recently welcomed back one star guard, but they lost another one on Monday. The Magic look to adjust to life without rookie Jameer Nelson when they host the Toronto Raptors. Steve Francis had 30 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in Monday's 109-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks -- just Orlando's second victory in 12 games. The game was Francis' second back after serving a three-game suspension for kicking a photographer during a game in Seattle. The Magic, who snapped their three-game losing streak, are two games behind Philadelphia for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. ``We've really been struggling, but it's good to get a victory,'' said Francis, whose team snapped a three-game losing streak. ``One thing that (interim) coach (Chris Jent) did was he told us that every single game is pretty much like a playoff series. You've got to prepare for them like they're your last game. ``Hopefully this can start something good for us.'' However, Nelson played just three minutes before leaving with a left rib cage injury. An MRI exam Tuesday showed a torn muscle, and the first-year playmaker could miss a maximum of two weeks. Nelson is averaging 8.1 points and 2.9 assists in 69 games. He started at point guard for several weeks but has been coming off the bench since Jent, who likes to play Francis at the point, took over as coach. ``Jameer said he felt OK, but it would be an understatement to say it would hurt if we lost him,'' Jent said after Monday's game. Dwight Howard had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Grant Hill added 16 points and 10 boards against the Hawks as Jent earned his first home win as an NBA head coach. ``Steve played great,'' said Jent. ``He was really aggressive, took smart shots and found his teammates. When he gets up in the 11, 12, 15 free throw range, you know he's playing well.'' The Raptors lost 103-91 to the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat on Tuesday, failing to string together their second road winning streak of the season. Rafer Alston scored 19 points and Chris Bosh added 16 and 13 rebounds for Toronto. Morris Peterson, who scored 15 points, was ejected in the fourth quarter after he and Miami's Dwayne Wade became tangled up and exchanged words. Coach Sam Mitchell was tossed less than two minutes later for arguing a foul called against Jalen Rose. Each of the 10 players who played in the first half scored at least two points for the Raptors, who have five players averaging double figures. Toronto has lost five of seven overall. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview?gid=2005033019 |

Hopefully we'll be able to find enough healthy bodies to field a team. We're four men down, and one of the "able" bodies is straight out of the CBA. Its gonna be a rough few weeks without nelson, hedo, or christie, but i think we can pull off a win against the raptors. The key will be to contain chris bosh, and if dwight can help with that, the Magic should be in pretty good shape. Final score 94-86 Magic win. GO magic! |

Falcon the magic have only heald their oponents to 86 or less 5 times this season so, although I wish you were right, I'll bet the games higher scoring than than. toronto hasnt scored less than 105 against us this season. We do have our season scoring high against them though, 129 points |

Magic win 93-87 in a sloppy game for both sides. Francis will either have an amazing game or a crappy as hell game with half the team out. With so Turk and Nelson out, Francis just got a "hog the ball card". Let's hope Howard doesnt punch him out this game. |

I love the optimism guys I really do but the Washington Generals ( Harlem Globetrotters perennial opponents) could throw up 95+ points on our boys. haha |

We SHOULD win this one. I wouldn't care less if we won this by 1, but we need this win rather badly. Go Magic! |

We have enough firepower to win this game since it is just the raptors. We just need our stars to carry the load and pick up on the defense, if that is even possible for our team. |

Stevie better be ready for this one... hes gonna be in there a whole hell of a lot a minutes. I think well be better off if he can play under control, even if it is at the expense of a few fast break baskets. should be a good game... go magic! |
