NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.

I am seriously doubting our playoff chances. That said, I feel that Steve can save our season. I have great confidence in him as a leader and a great player and feel like he is totally capable of coming back on a mission to lead us to the playoffs. Alot of fans have criticized him all season but he is our best player and you saw how we played without him. So I think he will come back from the suspension on a tear.

No Doubt he will bring energy back to the team, but lets just hope he doesnt play like his old self, where he holds on to the ball for like 15 seconds and then takes a ridiculous shot, or takes on 3 guys during a fastbreak only to get blocked.

If Francis plays like he is capable of, he can be the difference in this team. Bottom line. He just hasn't brought it the past few games. He needs to step up now and lead this team to an 8 seed.

Steve CAN save his season, but none of us know how hard he will actually try to do it. For this reason I agree with all of your assessments except for the one about him being a great leader. He is an awful leader in my opinion.

I agree, he is by no means a leader because he can easily become a selfish player on the court. He tries to take over the game sometimes. He tries to do TOO MUCH. A leader will try to get everyone else involved in the game to get them going.

Well why couldn't the SOB have done that here? Him being a leader and team player at Houston makes me hate him MORE.

Drafting Marbury + Foyle = Championship. \o/
Ok, lets play a little mental game: for once lets admit that there's something wrong with the magic organization. Something that makes players want to leave and something that makes them not wanting to be the leaders. We don't know about everything that happens inside the organization... The fact is that we always lost our big players and even T-Mac the biggest crybaby of all time on the Magic, steps out as a leader once he leaves...

The fact that he's a real leader now doesn't make me hate him... Au contraire, makes me think that maybe the problem wasn't him...

i'll admit that I'm still a Tmac fan although there are a lot of Magic fans that hate him...hell I still root for him and its nice to see him leading that team and getting in ppl's faces...only if he did that last year though then maybe things could have been different

I'm no Francis fan but we need all the help we can get right now. So I am hoping he can get his head right after the 3-game suspension.

If he is not playing 100% as some of us are suspecting and does not want to be in Orlando, then we should find a trade for him in the offseason. Package him with Cato, and cross our fingers that we could somehow recoup the loss of Tmac on that trade (which is higly unlikely with the way JW has pulled out trades).

Being a leader has nothing to do with being a ballhog sometimes or sometimes not getting people involved. I think 7 assists a game prove he is a team player for the most part anyway. But anyway, he leads by playing hard every night and being a tough guy on the court. And i know you guys have seen the way he sticks up for his team and wont let anyone push him or his team around. That is leadership. I also know he will get in a teammates face if they are doing something wrong. Oh yea a little tidbit...everyone gets angry about his TOs but guess who is ahead of him in TOs....Dwayne Wade, the NBAs sweetheart. And besides that all their numbers are basically the same but you dont hear all the crap about wade.

Let's toss technical fouls into the equation to tip the scales back a little bit. Plus Dwayne Wade is the league's sweetheart mostly because he conducts himself quiet, sweet, and determined off of the court, much like a young Grant Hill. Francis is the crap stain of the league right now because of all of his off the court antics that have hurt the Magic. Getting suspended during a key stretch for us was just the icing on the cake.
Totally respect your opinion tho, cuz Francis is a very good contributer on the court in my opinion too.
