We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. We need to draft a center too. Andrew Bogut would be nice. |

Luckil Memphis is winning 97-86 over New Jersey with 3:20 left. Hopefully Memphis holds on and New Jersey wont gain ground on us. But we did fall 1 1/2 games behind Philly now.......Who am I kidding!! Like it matters!! lol |

lol for us to get bogut we would have to have pat williams pull off a real miracle to get us the #1 pick...i don't think he would be a good center cause he is just too skilled a player...but hey we can have a 7 foot sf who is like nowitzki except he can pass better and play some D. wishful thinking but imagine bogut and howard...that would be crazy |

Wow..is all I can say. I was looking forward to coming home and seeing the box score smiling back at me. I come home and am treated to a knuckle sandwich courtesy of battie and cato. Simply inexcusable. We have had some crushing defeats, we have had some productive defeats, and we have had some all-hope-is-lost defeats...but this one easily takes the cake as "most pathetic" defeat of the season. |

I have to say that although our car has stalled and there is no gas station in sight, I really am still optomistic at our prospects for the future. How is this possible, you ask? Let me tell yuz. I am willing to give JW the benefit of the doubt and say that if the point of this year was to dump the bad contracts, have Hill make a comeback, leave the door open for a quality coach to come to us, develop our young rookie talent, and see once and for all if Francis could be the new face of the franchise...this season is TOTALLY a success and we are in great shape for next year. We get rid of Hill, cato, battie, christie, and trade francis and suddenly we have a ton of money to work with. We can be big spenders for once. If you add in the possibility of Flip Saunders or Phil Jackson gracing our organization with their presences, the magic will be playoff bound and extremely well off. I think the point of this year was to get some flexibility for years to come and our humble hockey man has done just that. So he had to sacrifice this season. He's the only person I fully trust on this team to care about its long term success, sad to say. |

Thing is, the more I think about it, JW may keep Francis because his value is so incredibly low right now. |

I agree, Francis did not even make the All-Star this season. And after the immature showing, you are right he has a low trade value right now. It's sad to image that those we traded for TMac have either been traded already or in our to-trade-list. So at this point, the Rockets are the winner of this trade. But then again their GM did some other trade to improve their team. JW's move has just been bad and did not pan out for us. |

Hey....first time poster, but anyways... I agree with most of the stuff you guys are throwin around, with a few exceptions. Black and Blue said we should get rid of Hill... eh, no. Hill is the only veteran giving at least some resemblance of "effort." Also, I don't think Battie is uselss. Granted, hes no Shaq and has a limited offensive game, but hes a hustle guy. He rebounds and plays defense and bangs around with the other centers. Cato, on the other hand, I would trade for a piece of pizza. Other than hooking up with lobs from Francis, Cato couldnt put in a shot if his life depended on it. As far as the offseason goes, I'm not sure exactly what kinda cap shape we will be in. Christie should be gone, and if we resign him, I may weep. The core future players will be Nelson and Howard. With that said, I wouldnt be in the least bit opposed to trading Francis and Cato for a "true" shooting guard. The other issues are center and, I feel, a good long-range shooter. Someone like Bobby Sura, who will hustle and be able to spread the zone defenses. Then we need a center, (Declerq doesnt count...ever) and I dont know how thats gonna happen. Hopefully we can pick up a nice player in the draft (please no more jaryl sassers or reece gainses or steven hunters or...ya know). Oh, I too was utterly disgusted with last nights performance. The Magic looked as if they couldnt play with the team at the local YMCA. I just dont get it, so much talent but so little production. Go Magic. |

Falcon, first of all welcome to the boards. Second of all Im not in favor of scrapping Hill and I would be happy if we could retain him for cheap. Sad thing is that Weisbrod has alluded in the past to possibly getting rid of hill after this season to free up money. He doesnt fit into our long term rebuilding plans, so I was merely trying to find a silver lining in all of this mess. I love Hill, and if JW keeps him Ill be surprised and delighted. |

How low can this team go? Apparently very low, maybe we haven't seen the lowest point yet. If we loose the next 4 games at home, THAT would pretty low, if we loose all remaining games (which the Magic is very capable of), THAT would be horrible! When and how will this team turn around? I have serious doubts that THIS team can rebound (punt intended, except for Howard) from this low point. I am just numb, I should be feeling angry but I'm not, I should be feeling sad, but I'm not, I'm just numb.
