NOTE FROM THE FORUM OWNER:

We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Weisbrod Fires Davis; Asst. Coach Chris Jent Takes Over...

From what I have heard, Francis has tended to favor Jent this season the most out of the coaching staff. Jent works with the guards, and apparently he and Francis have a very good repitore (sp?).

I think this was a big factor in Weisbrod's decision to name him the head coach, because he probably wants to keep our best player happy and hopefully lead this team on a charge towards the playoffs.

Have You Hugged Your Van Gundy Today?

Sorry, I had to calm down a bit before posting. Just soooo happy. Now that I am rational again, the benefit of this is that we can pretty much audition this new guy to see if he's worth keeping. If he can be like a Van Gundy or Conan O' Brien (coach of the nets lawrence frank), then he can keep his job. Other than that, we get a chance this offseason to get a respected coach. Think of how great we would be with someone actually telling our players things instead of making spit bubbles and playing tic tac toe on his clipboard.
This is AWESOME!

Well, I bet magiclive is having a good day today because of this. :P

I just hope Jent can get us out of this freaking losing streak. Then maybe we could get a new coach over the summer *cough*Phil Jackson*cough*

Dang, I knew you didn't like him, but seriously. Best moment as a Magic fan? :P

Davis might be staying in the organization, perhaps as a scout. All we know is that he'll probbaly never be our head coach again. He might not ever be a head coach again, regardless of what team. :/

WOW, I dont know what to say about this... I hope it works out for the best and the wins start to show, but if you guys are looking for Jent to crack the whip on these guys I dont think it's gonna happen... When Jent was in Houston he was like a little girl he was known to cry in the locker room when things didnt go his way durring the game or pratice... He is a smart guy he is kinda like a scotty brooks type of mind set I would think you will see lots of ISO going on with the smaller players... I hope this works for the best, but I dont understand what JW is doing at this point..

Good move. Now I wonder why it took JW this long to realize what kind of coach JD really is. A terrible one who will never be successful. Will Jent get the Magic act together? I sure hope so... :(

I am don't know much about Chris Jent, except for the bits and pieces of info here on the board, but it's better than just sitting put and doing nothing.
