We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Orlando Magic vs. Sacramento Kings vs. ![]() What: Regular Season Game #62 Where: Arco Arena When: March 15, 10:00 PM Broadcast: TV -- SunSports, Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This isn't the ideal place for the Orlando Magic to visit to avoid their longest losing streak of the season, needing to beat the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena for the first time in more than 11 years. Orlando won 105-81 at New Jersey on March 5 to tie its season-best winning streak at three games, but has since dropped four in a row to match its worst skid of the season. The Magic have given up an average of 104 points during the losing streak and are scoring just 91.5 per game -- eight below their season average. Sunday's 98-82 home loss to New Jersey dropped Orlando to .500 for the first time this season, and the team's frustration is beginning to show. Steve Francis was ejected, rookie Dwight Howard received the first technical foul of his pro career, Hedo Turkoglu got in a shoving match with New Jersey's Zoran Planinic in the final seconds and reserve guard DeShawn Stevenson booted the ball into the stands at the buzzer. The loss kept the Magic in a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference with the Indiana Pacers, only 1 1/2 games ahead of ninth-place Philadelphia. Coach Johnny Davis knows his team must improve as it begins a five-game road trip, which includes contests against the Los Angeles Clippers, Seattle, Portland and Charlotte. ``This is a tough stretch for us right now and we have a very important road trip coming up and they have to stay together in the midst of all that's taken place right now and believe in one another and show up on that trip committed to winning basketball games,'' Davis said. Orlando will be looking to end its skid in a place they've dropped nine straight since a 97-91 win on Dec. 19, 1993. The Kings are 23-9 at Arco Arena this season, but lost there on Sunday, 111-96 to the Houston Rockets. Peja Stojakovic had 21 points and Cuttino Mobley added 20 as the Kings had their three-game winning streak snapped. Sacramento missed the inside presence of Brad Miller, who was placed on the injured list before the game after breaking his left leg Saturday in a light shooting drill. Miller is expected to be sidelined for at least a month. Kings coach Rick Adelman, however, refused to the blame the loss on Miller's absence. ``We just didn't have any answers today. We just didn't seem to have what we needed today,'' Adelman said. ''(Miller's injury) is a major blow obviously to us but we have to get these guys together these last 18 games.'' http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview?gid=2005031523 |

I'm still rooting for our guys to win. No matter I hate the idea that a win would be a step back to firing Davis. Go Magic! |
