Magic Coach Johnny Davis, who took over for Doc Rivers when Rivers was fired early last season, has 20 games left on his contract.

Davis says he "doesn't think about it at all. . . . That situation will take care of itself."

But when asked if he had proved himself this season, Davis says, "We're better than we were last season. The evidence is there."

He was then asked if Ms. Davis thinks about his situation. Davis laughed and said his wife knows that some things are beyond a coach's control.

Lezli Davis is in attendance at home games each night, sitting in the lower bowl behind the Magic bench.

"She's as big a Magic fan as there is," Davis said. "She doesn't get emotional with the wins and losses. She's supportive of me."

Davis acts like he's one of the reasons the Magic are better this season than last, when in all actuality he's one of the reasons we're not even better.

The evidence that we're better is that we've got Francis, Hill, Howard, etc. Weisbrod has made us better by getting better talent. Davis needs to be gone this offseason.

Another statement that has to make JW scratch his head and think about JD as coach. We should have close to (if not already have) 40 wins if JD prepared for EVERY GAME AND NOT JUST THE IMPORTANT BIG TEAMS like Dallas and others.

I wonder what evidence he is referring to here.???

He should at least have the balls to admit that we should be better than where we are right now.

Gomagic33, once again I gotta say I agree with you. We are on the same wavelength. A quality coach would say that 'the team is good, but under him they could do better.' Davis is too content to miss the playoffs and put all of his efforts into keeping his job. He doesnt realize the results on the floor are what will give him job security, not optomistic treatment of his job performance

Yeah Black and Blue. It's just so frustrating. If we lose tonight , we will have Davis' postgame quotes pointing out the the same obvious problem.

Gomagic33, I think you are right, if we loose JD will say the same things again, he has yet to take ownership for any losses we've had.

I think his substitutions are really bad, last night against the Kings, in the first quarter, Jameer and Hill are the only players doing well, playing off each other, the ball is somewhat moving ok, Francis is playing real bad, Howard can't hold on to the ball, Cato is barely a factor. Jameer is making Bibby work, while Francis is just erratic, no defense no offense, Hill is the only consistent scorer, but because Jameer is getting him the ball, I even saw a nice pick & roll between the two, basic basketball.

So what does JD do?

He takes out Jameer, leaves Francis?
What is going through Davis's mind?

Anyone with a small amount of basketball IQ can see that!

John Weisbrod, please REPLACE DAVIS, or ask him to step down!

The sad thing about this is I think we will be stuck with this lame-duck coach for the rest of the season. :(
