We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. What are our chances of making the playoffs guys? This is more of an open thread that really can be added to up until playoff time, since our chances are sure to grow and shrink with every passing game. Right now, at the time of this post (before March 13th's game), we are tied with Indiana for the 7th and 8th playoff spots. The problem is that Philly isn't close behind us at all, and a strong streak by New York, New Jersey, and/or Toronto would put them past us in the standings. Right now since we are on the cusp of the playoff cutoff, we really have our own destiny in our hands. We could drive and find ourselves in 4th in the playoff rankings, or fall and miss them entirely. In my opinion, right now we are looking like a number 8 seed <_< in every sense of the word. Unless we improve the mental and physical health of our team, we will barely make the playoffs only to be knocked out in the first round. Other thoughts? Also, just wanted to show you guys my new signature pics. One of them superartist NYCMagic fan was amazingly nice enough to create and surprise me with (the one that has my boys Tony and Dwight next to each other) and the other I made myself (the one that features art from the graphic novel Sin City, which everyone knows has gotta be in Joisey somewhere). Hope you guys like them. ![]() ![]() |

Jermaine O'Neal has a serious shoulder injury. So we should be taking advantage of this. We can still get back the 6th seed or even the 4th. We just need to string together some wins. Easier said than done. But if we can get all the guys healthy for this run, I believe we can pull it off... |

I dont want to get too down over these last 2 losses because there was no Grant Hill and he should be with us down the stretch. With Hill in the lineup we are a totally different team. Francis wont be controlling the ball as much. I'm still pretty confident we at least wind up with the #8 seed. I'll be happy just getting into the playoffs this season. Because once the playoffs start, records go out the window and its a new season and anything can happen. Look at the Magic/Pistons series from 2 years ago. We were the #8 seed and were within ONE GAME of knocking out the #1 seed in the First Round!!! Anything is possible come playoff time!!! I honestly think this team is better than that playoff team because we have much more size and rebounding and more than one scoring option in Hill, Francis, Hedo and now Nelson kind of. Oh and Black and Blue....I like that Howard/Soprano Sig!!! 8) |

If we are good enough to make the playoffs this year, I am QUITE excited about our chances next year with all the money that will be free. We might be able to grab a big free agent or two to supplant Hill and Cato if we want. It might be a good idea to start checking out whose contract expires after this year and who the Magic have a shot at. |

There is no way that we sign any big free agents this year without some serious roster moves(or dumping christie's contract). We already have more money spent next year against the cap then we do this year. http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando.htm |

I am getting to the point that missing the playoffs this your may be better long term for this team. Still think they will get in however, more because the Pacers and 76ers have there own issues. Brutal |

Man, after this loss to the Nets, I wouldn't be surprised to see us actually come in 10th. The Raptors, among other teams, had an amazingly good game tonight and with a bit of fire could knock us out. With our road trip coming up, expect some more losses, with us NEEDING a big winning streak upon our return to home. Magic, I love ya babies, but what are your heads right now?! |

We're on a four-game losing streak, the team is very frustrated, and we're about to embark on a long road trip. Plus, our schedule in April is very tough. I won't count us out, but its not looking good... |

Yeah, totally Magicmadness. If this was the E! True Hollywood Story of the 04-05 Orlando Magic, this would be our "fall from grace" part of the show, when things couldnt get much worse. Let's hope Franchise acts older than 12, Davis lets Howard do his thang, Hill remains healthy, Turk hits his shots, Nelson keeps up his play of late, and those magic dancers keep shakin their sweet cans, cuz we need all the help we can get. |

Mathematical formula to playoffs: WINS = PLAYOFFS LOSSES = DAVIS FIRED Which one would you rather have? This is a tuff one for me. |

I have to think, unless he can inspire a very deep run in the playoffs Davis's days are numbered here. I get the impression that the team has quit on him (as evidenced by the turnovers). If I were JW I would try to shake things up NOW, even with ian interm guy. This just ain't working. Making the plyaofs alone will not save his job. Brutal |
