"Dwight is 10 times bigger than I was at 19", Garnett said. "He's like a freak of nature. It's almost scary how he applies himself and works on his game. I had to go to my bag of tricks to come up with some stuff to deal with him." KG on Dwight

Dwight is on his way. The key for the Magic is to make sure we can pay him enough when that all important first big contract comes up. That's usually where you lose good players. I know that's some time away, but Howard needs to stay in a Magic uniform for a long, long time.

Wow! No wonder Davis can't wait to keep him on the bench!

Hearing this from KG is awesome. I remember the surprise in David Stern's voice when he called Howard's name first on draft day, and the resultant 40 bucks I won in a bet that he would be first overall, and I gotta smile :)

Nice compliment from KG.

I am wondering what Davis is thinking of holding back his top rookie. The more he stays on the floor. The more he will learn.

Mostly beacuse there are times (though less lately) that Dwight renders himself ineffective. Dwight is a starter, and if he does not produce he needs to come off the floor and watch. One thing I cannot fault Davis on this year is his handling of Howard (though Cliff Ray probably deserves the credit here).

You mean like when we're being raped under the basket on the last quarter, everyone is screaming :"f**k you Davis, let Dwight play ffs!!!", and he still sits him on the bench?
You call that good handling of DH potential? I don't...

Eventhough Howard is just a rookie, he is our best low-post presence. So just like zuppafly pointed out, Davis sure seem to forget about Howard (specially in the 4th).

How can he render himself ineffective when he cannot even see the ball? If Nelson wasn't move to the starting PG, Howard will not even get to score the way he has the past few games.

Besides as far this season's plan for Howard is to rebound and play defense. He has done that and more.

Yeah, it looked like the team's goals for Howard in his rookie season was to learn how to rebound and how to become a defensive presense. He's been doing that well, and is starting to develop an offensive game. It looks like he can end up finishing the season with double-double averages...which is what I predicted he would be able to do (I said about 10-11ppg/10reb).

Oh, like the time Howard had a double double at the half and hardly played in the third and fourth? That WAS brilliant strategy by Davis. X0

JD was an idiot for not having D-Flight guard KG instead of Batman at the end of the game. Punishment: hook shot off the glass and a foul on Batman to put T-Wolves up by 3. :( I DON'T CARE IF D-FLIGHT HAD 5 FOULS, IT'S THE LAST MINUTE OF THE GAME, AND D-FLIGHT OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KG THAT NIGHT!!! JD lost that game.

You are right though, Brutal. Clifford Ray deserves the credit on the development of Howard.... but I can't say Davis has anything to do with it.

Ohhhhh Brutal, that is just brutal. Clifford Ray has a ton to do with Howard's development, but Davis' awkward substitutions, allowing Francis to make bad shots without making the extra pass to howard, and inability to trust Howard at the end of games can hardly be considered smart management.
Howard is one guy who probably wont miss Davis when he's gone.

I do have to say Brutal, you are one of the most optomistic Magic fans I have seen. It is actually sort of admirable in its own way. Kudos for believing in our guys, even when logic may prove otherwise.;)
