We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. You can also visit the original MagicMadness Forum at http://orlandomagic.proboards.com.
Special thanks to our Staff Members: Black and Blue, MAGICMANEVAN, and NYCMagicFan!

Gomagicvr6 and Hill2Howard, welcome Gomagicvr6, its nice to have a guy who seems to be as in love with the city of Orlando as we are. As for the RealGM discussion, I joined that site a while ago, but still have yet to make my first post because a lot of the posters there seem to post just to post and not as much for the resultant conversation. There are a lot of pointless posts because many want to get their post numbers up (because until you get to about a zillion posts, you are a "ball boy" or something), and some very unreliable "eyewitness testimonials" (i.e. 'Steve Francis told me he hates Dwight Howard' etc.). Just my opinion, so nothing intended towards anyone here who posts a lot there. The thing that is good about the site, is that since they do have so many people, it is a great place for breaking information and a good place to also learn what else is happening in the league. Phew! Long post. Sorry guys. |

As most members here know from visiting RealGM's Magic board, I post over there sometimes and have been a member since early 2003. Just from looking at some of the member names registered over here, I recognize them from RealGM's forum. I check out RealGM nowadays for the same reasons B&B stated. It's a great place for breaking Magic and NBA news, and it's a way to see what Magic fans of another board are saying about the team (I also have a link back to here in my sig :D). The main advantage they have over us right now is activity. But, if you look at some of their threads, they're off-topic or about other NBA news, which here at our forum would be posted on different boards other than the Orlando Magic one. Plus, they're going through a lot of crap right now with flame wars and a lot of members getting ticked off with too many new rules being enforced. We're like the "underground" Magic forum, lol...people stumble upon our site and then say "damn, this place is awesome!" We've just got to get the word out better! |

Ya know, I'd say we're the "underground site" only because they have more posters, BUT we are the only one I have found solely devoted to the Magic, and the fact is that when I was searching for a Magic forum, this was the first one that popped up for me and has a much sleeker look than Realgm. In my opinion, it's only a matter of time before this site kicks the crap out of real gm in regards to the number of magic fans participating. I imagine it looking somewhat more like finheaven.com, which is HUGE and solely for dolphins fans. Magicmadness, just a suggestion. I think the mainpage of Magicmadness.com would be much improved, and the traffic to the site would be much bigger, if the homepage also contained a primary news section with photos. As of right now, people come here to discuss but dont realize it is also a great place to learn about Magic news. You already are cool enough to put the news at the top section of the site in that little box, but if you put the news on the frontpage it would be very well received. If you would like a good example (sorry Im plugging this a lot, but it is a really well constructed site that has been named one of the best sports fans sites anywhere), check out finheaven.com. I'd be happy to help you with any upgrades you'd like to make as well my man. Also, a real quick question: Why is the site .us and not .com? |

Actually, the main page hasn't been updated in about a year. It's actually not supposed to be the main page anymore, but I haven't gotten around to deleting it (I guess I might as well). I'm working on a main site right now that will have news, written articles (hopefully - if we have any writers around here), team/player stats, game recaps, etc. along with some of the content already done in the past (team history, awards history, etc.). The problem I have is that I can't implement all of these things right now with the host that we're using. But, a huge upgrade to the forum software is expected this year, along with a new customizable portal (some what like the one finheaven.com uses, I suppose), so I'm stuck in a bind. I can either wait and see if the upgrade is worth staying with InvisionFree, or I'll have the forum converted to a paid Invision host (which will cost some dough) and I'll create a portal page from there. I'm at a "wait and see" stage right now... As for the question about why its magicmadness.us instead of magicmadness.com: some company that buys up domain names and then charges people to buy them off of them has the rights to it. I think the highest I offered before going with .us was $100, and they wouldn't sell it to me (a*sholes - it should only cost about $9.99). I plan on purchasing the .net version, but someone else is using it right now (they don't seem to be updating their site ever, so I plan on snatching it later this year when it becomes available). Great comments, B&B. If anyone else has anything to add or ask me about, please feel free to do so on the Questions/Comments board. P.S. - thanks for the link to finheaven.com. I'm getting some good ideas just from looking at their site's format. |

oh yeah, metrowest is a city of apartments and condos now. Its 75% apts and condos 25% homes. nice area, with a golf course. The apts are pretty expensive though, but they are very nice. This are is good, but it aint no Windermere or DP. That are is real nice, they got the Butler chain. |
