The 2004 MLBPlayoffs have gotten underway and its time to discuss some baseball!

Who are everyone's favorites to win? Did your team make the playoffs? Catch a highlight that was just too amazing not to discuss? All baseball playoff posts should go in here, the official thread.

I hate to be a banwagon fan, but my favorite to win are the Cardinals. It would have been the Marlins, but there not in the playoffs.

Hey MagicMadness, how do you feel about the Braves. It seems like it's over for them.

Yankees all the way man. I was surprised of their win yesterday. It was fun to watch and had a surprising finished. I thought it was over till A-Rod and Mitsui stepped up.

Braves fan here, and we're not out of it just yet. Furcal hit a walk-off two run homer last night in extra innings to lead Atlanta to a 2-1 win and a 1-1 series tie with Houston. If they can just win one game in Houston, we've got Game 5 at home back at Turner Field.

Well, the Braves lost this afternoon 8-5. The Astros take a 2-1 series lead, Game 4 is tomorrow.

In other playoff news, the Twins-Yankees series sees NY up 2-1, the Red Sox have swept the Angels, and the Cardinals are up 2-0 against the Dodgers heading into tonight's game.

Damn the Yankees are always scaring me. They were down like 5-1 and now they're tied 5-5. Great game. Twins have been under the radar all season, and no one has talked about them among the playoff teams. They just keep doing what they are supposed to do, and play the game their way. Seemed to have worked last night.

The Yankees ended up winning that game...damn, they always find a way to come back.

Braves-Astros: Astros lead 2-1
Cardinals-Dodgers: Cardinals lead 2-0
Red Sox-Angels: Red Sox win 3-0
Yankees-Twins: Yankees win 3-1

Yeah...that's going to be a great series to watch. A rematch of last year's second round AL playoffs.

I really hope Houston wins. What a comeback late in the season to win the wild card they deserved it. Also i like biggio and bagwell they are hard nose ball players.

Wow...what a game it was today between the Braves and Astros. The Braves took an early 2-0 lead, but the Astros scored 5 runs in an inning later on. At 5-2, the Braves got a three-run homer, and then J.D. Drew knocked in the go ahead run in the 9th.

Braves win 6-5, series is tied 2-2 heading back to Atlanta.

GO BRAVES

Nice win for the braves, but I still expect for them to lose tomorrow.

Well, the Braves blew it again. Geez...we've won 13 straight Division titles, but only have one World Series win to our credit. We've also gone 0-4 in the Division Series since getting swept by the Yankees in the 2000 World Series. I just cannot figure this team out for the life of me. Every year we dominate in the regular season and then let some stupid wild card team knock us out of the first round.

Here's a look at the second round:

Yankees/Red Sox
Cardinals/Astros

My early predictions are Yankees over Red Sox in 7, Cardinals over Astros in 5. I want the Red Sox to win, but I can't pick them considering how many times the Yankees have denied them.
