Introducing Wii U, Nintendo's next home console. No, that's not the console itself up there, that's just the new controller. This wireless pad is reportedly the size of 7 Wii Remotes laid across and sports a touchscreen of a whopping 6.2 inches. It is essentially a giant DS in your hands, complete with a camera, microphone and tilt-sensitive gyroscope. The idea is that you will be able to access menus and different views on the controller's screen while playing a game. You can even put the entire game in your hands so your friend can use the TV.

Apart from the controller, the console itself will support full 720/1080p hi-def resolution as seen in the tech demo pictured below.

We have been assured that these enhanced graphics will provide for more attention to hardcore third-party titles, such as Assassin's Creed and Arkham City coming to Wii U. The online service has also been revamped, comparable to the jump from the DSi to the 3DS in terms of networking and features. Friend Codes are right out, we have been told, in exchange for a service similar to Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live.

More info to come soon! What are your thoughts so far? How much would you pay for the console, and what games are you looking forward to playing in glorious HD?
