So, many of you probably remember one of the most loved stages from the first Super Smash Bros.—Hyrule Castle.![]() Being Link's stage and being 1999, it was similar to Hyrule Castle from Ocarina of Time. Death Mountain can even be seen in the background. This stage was nowhere to be found in Melee or Brawl. That's where this topic comes in. Before Brawl was even released, I had the idea of a remodel of Hyrule Castle to represent Twilight Princess and also Link's remodeling. ![]() Hyrule Castle as seen in Twilight Princess. Other than a graphical upgrade, the layout would look like Hyrule Castle from Smash 64, only the sepia atmosphere and the black particles from Twilight Princess would fill the stage. Now, although this would just be recycling an old stage, it would also be a balanced stage and fun to play on unlike a fair number of ones that ended up in Brawl (I'm talking about Mario Bros., 75m, Hanenbow, etc.). Also, Hyrule Castle from Smash 64 would have an occasional tornado rampaging through the stage, sucking up players. To replace this, I'm thinking a Twilit Kargarok? ![]() Link faces many of these flying creatures as a wolf on the rootops of Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess. They would fly in, screeching with their recognizable distorted roar, and barrel into players on the stage. Similar to how King Bulblin rides across the Bridge of Eldin stage on Lord Bullbo in Brawl. And that's about all I've got. What do you think? Never mind, I'm not done yet. Alternatively, since Toon Link is in this game, Hyrule Castle could have been fashioned like in The Wind Waker. ![]() Again, the layout would look like the original Hyrule Castle stage. The highlight of this stage would be kind of like the Castle Siege stage that's in Brawl. Meaning, brawlers would eventually fall below into the castle. Instead of Fire Emblem statues holding up the platforms, there would be the hero's statue just like the one near the basement in The Wind Waker. Perhaps Moblins and Darknuts could also be involved in the stage, since they are also present here in The Wind Waker. Now what do you think? |
