Did Brawl Live Up To It's Hype?

A debatable question, especially for any kind of sequel to a popular game. It's definitely a hard choice.

But I feel Brawl didn't live up to what people made of it. I'm not saying that Brawl was disappointing, but the excitement about the daily updates, the photoshopped Sonic heads in the beginning, and all the theories that were made were awesome. I had a ton of fun just speculating what it would be like, and in someways it was better than what I thought.

Anyway you look at it, Brawl had a considerable amount of time and effort put into it and it shows. So, how do you feel about it?

Unlike Twilight Princess, I think Brawl lived up to it's hype. Sure, the year or so of photoshopping fakes, theorizing, and speculating was enjoyable, and the release date delays were agonizing enough to make it easy to dislike something about the game, but it just got even better after I picked it up at its midnight release. Of course, I have my gripes when I play the game to this day. Like "I never like playing on that stage," or "I'd prefer just having this item turned off," but there's more pros in the game to make up for any cons. Trophies, Stickers, Coin Launcher, snapshots, Stage Builder, Challenges, Masterpieces, four kinds of control, the Subspace Emissary, Events, the modes, the characters, etc.
