Start your engines, as Mario returns to Mario Kart, but in a much better form. Brace yourself for the deadliest race ever!

CONTROLS
Mario Kart Wii has brilliant new controls, thanks to the stirring wheel you get free with the game. The wheel operates almost like a real life wheel! The controls are really innovative, with pressing the 2 button mskes you accelerate, while the d-pad launches your weapon.

However, if your really a die-hard Mario fan, and want to go old school, you can also operate the Gamecube and Classic controller, so everyone's happy.

RACES
The racing has changed significantly, due to the amazing graphics, and original tracks. However, one of the great new parts of Mario Kart Wii is the fact that tracks from all the previous games have been bought back, in such graphical detail it would leave a Sony fan drooling over the quality of the graphics.

Another new fact about Mario Kart Wii is the ability to race with twelve racers, meaning much more frantic racing action! In order to support all these racers, more characters can be unlocked, thanks to the grand prix!

Unfortunately, the AI is like the ones in Double-dash, which is rather unfortunate. However, when reviving one aspect, they remove another:

The removal of snaking. Luckily Nintendo have seen sense, and have removed snaking. However, there are new ways to get boosts.

Tricks. These can be achieved whenever you jump off a ramp. Simply rotating the wheel will give you a small boost, which gives you a little more speed.

The other way to gain a boost is by pressing "1" when tuning sharp corners. Its like snaking, but you only get one boost only while turning.

WI-FI
The best thing about Mario Kart Wii is the Wi-Fi. Whether you feel like clashing on the way to the finish line with racing, or stealing balloons senseless with battling, wi-fi is for you. You start with a 5000- point mark on wi-fi, with the points increasing if you come first-fifth, or decreasing if you become 7th-12th. However, this new ranking system simply means people can get more fun out of racing, and not just care about winning.

OVERALL
Overall, Mario Kart Wii is a truely amazing game. The many characters, tracks and even weapons can only be experianced truly if you buy the game.

Again, a nice review. Did you get it in Japan or Europe? It isn't out in North American yet. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. I've never been much of a fan of the Mario Kart games before, but with the Wii Wheel and other new stuff in Mario Kart Wii, it's going to be one I want to try out. I already put five dollars down to reserve it when I picked up Super Smash Bros. Brawl a month ago. I'm glad you said some good stuff about the WFC, it looks like one of the best parts of it!
