Well, Mario has returned on the Wii. But is it great, or is it a big screw up? Well, the answer is no. Its awesome. CONTROLS The controls handle really well, with moving the nunchuck's control stick moves Mario, while pressing A makes him jump. Spinning the remote makes Mario spin as well, which always brings a smile to your face. GRAPHICS The graphics are really wonderful: They're atmospheric, and are so beautiful it will bring a tear to your eye. The enemies can be seen from miles away, and the Cut-scenes are utterly spectacular. The bosses look great too, with each one having colour and life zapped into them at the same time. The camera is good too, like it was in Super Mario 64. The camera tries to be the best it can be, without spoiling your experiance most of the time. MUSIC Well, what would you expect from Koji Kondo? The music is wonderful, with new gaming tunes that are alnost as catchy as the classics! However, die-hard Mario fans will be happy to know the classical music hasn't been forgotten, and has been improved, without making it lose its touch. DIFFICULTY This is the best part of all. Mario Galaxy's difficulty is balanced out almost perfectly. Beginners will be very happy when they see that its not that hard for their first 60 stars, but the remaining 60 are so hard to get, only a true gaming mastermind can achieve this. MISCELLANIOUS Mario has new transformations in this game, but thats the bad thing. Why get rid of classical Mario? Sure, the return of the fire flower power up is good, but ones like the ice power up are questionable... OVERALL Mario Galaxy combines Graphics with Gameplay, in order to make a game so magical its almost on a league of its own. Shame about the power ups though... 97% |

Not that bad of a review. It was a little short, but you covered most of Super Mario Galaxy's strongest areas. The music really has some pieces that are just fun to listen to. The graphics and gameplay, like you said, are without a doubt satisfactory and bring the game together to how entertaining it is to play. |
