Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious

This was an experimental ground-to-air guided missile, that like many other projects in Nazi Germany eventually came to nothing, although there is no doubt it was a serious undertaking with several dozen launches many of which trialled the guidance system. This one was eventually abandoned in favour of more advanced and promising systems. The hardware pictured here resides at the RAF Museum, Cosford, along with a V2 and other experimental missiles.

I took these pics whilst at the show last April, in advance of acquiring one of the Bronco kits, of which more anon. I've always found this sort of experimental hardware from late war Germany, fascinating, quirky (check out the wooden fins) and marvel at the advanced concepts that didn't quite have the tech to make them work properly - years ahead of the game. It wasn't possible to get a really good full length shot, so here's a preview from the Bronco kit to show what it looks like (all 6.3m of it!), ready for launching.
