Too many SIGs for my own good

Another piece of appropriate music recently - sitting working an Airfix Mosquito and on the radio comes Ron Goodwin's theme from 633 Squadron. OK, the model's a PR XVI not a late model bomber disguised as an FB, but it still seemed apt.

It gets a lot of plays on Classic FM, along with Walton's Spitfire Prelude and Fugue. Goodwin's BoB theme gets quite a few plays as does Kaman's Band of Brothers and William's Saving Private Ryan. The one that will always make me stop and listen is William's Schindler's List, possibly one of the most exquisite and haunting themes ever composed for film.

Even better imo when listened to as originally written, as the soundtrack to "First of the Few". Must watch that again ...

Classic FM is my choice; for some websites (not this one, I hasten to add) my pick would be Rossini's "Dueto de Los Gatos" aka the Cat Duet. Google it.

Radio 3
No adverts and full works (except for Breakfast and In Tune which is annoying)

Air on a G turn is my piece of appropriate music

Sometimes (and at the moment) it feels like "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel is the most appropriate for me!

Oh dear Harriet. Know how you feel.
That made me think that something along the lines of Achy Breaky Part would be my signature tune :(

I'm a Classical Music LT buff. Classic FM without adverts would be nice.

First time I heard the Cats' Duet was on a children's' TV show back in the 80s
The performers (wearing suitable cossies) were for some reason in bathtubs

Was very funny
