Hi guys,

I picked this one up at Telford, along with an Xtradecal sheet (haven't decided which markings to use yet though), and a base, which I will use to pose the model in flight. I will be getting a bit of clear acrylic rod for this too.

Moving on through some semi-quick construction (for me).
Had to deal with a bit of warping on one of the fuselage halves, but gluing and taping bit by bit from the nose seemed to work okay.

Intakes needed a bit of fettling to improve the fit (to actually get them to slot in at all), but a few minutes with a sanding stick, and things were looking better.

Last update for now, after doing the main painwork.

Work on the base is in progress too...

Cracking start Phil. I've got some 2Bobs decals to stick to one of these. Looks like it went together OK.

The pole pose looks nice and dramatic.

cheers

When I built my one it went together really well, apart from the intakes - they're a theoretical 'design' fit with no tolerance whatsoever. Your canopy seems to have gone on better than mine.

Thanks guys.

Here's an update to cover most of the decalling.
Overall the Xtradecal decals have been good, but as I expected, getting them to settle down over the fine detail like the vortex generators on the wings was not going to happen. I need to do a bit of touch up painting now consequently.
Also I chose the kit decal for the red intake "lip" over a fiddly masking job. The decal wasn't big enough and I should have done the masking job all along.

Once I have tidied things up, it shouldn't be long to the finish line!

Cheers,
Phil.

Final WIP update before finishing, I hope.
Just the fuel tanks to do now, and a bit of colour on the base.
