Are the undersides of the Javelin bare metal or sprayed in silver? I have no clear refs.

It would be finished in silver dope, which in RAF parlance is referred to as 'High Speed Silver'. The dope itself was a mixture of nitrocellulose lacquer and aluminium (aluminum if you like!) powder. peebeep |
