Evening guys,

Been quietly plugging away on this for the last few weeks in between other projects. This is the first of at least two builds for SMW, both representing the 90's. The Tamiya Mossie needs no introduction, so here's where she's up to, with the interior complete, OOB except for a couple of leftover Eduard belts that I divided between the seats.

Various sub assemblies have been painted, glued etc so shouldn't take long for her to come together. Plan is finish her as a PR.IV in overall PRU blue loveliness B)

Thanks for looking,

Shaun

Great kit- I have recntly bought the Barracuda decals Mossie stencil set for my 1/48th kit- not sure if they do them for the 1/72 version- the "X" things for the wing tops are really well done.
Lookingforward to seing this one as it moves along.

Well, this has been going on for a while, so here's an update. Been tinkering with her on and off throughout the airshow season, but have just this evening got the Gloss coat on. Tried Alclad Klear Kote for the first time, which immediately seems just the job after having troubles with Klear over the last few months. Here's how she stood prior to that. I've used Xtracolor PRU blue, which looks pretty much spot on to my eye, and much better than the photo suggests...

Have kept weathering to just a very light post shade, as I can't imagine PR machines got especially dirty.

More soon,

Cheers

That looks topping and the PR colour looks good. I'm sure these birds would have had a regular polish to wring every last knot of performance out of them.
