Hi all, Bit of a forlorn query this, but hear me out ![]() A close colleague of mine is leaving us at Brize at the end of June to go to 54Sqn at waddo. I have decided to present him with my Airfix Vampire T11 (finished of course) as part of his leaving present. I looked it up and I can see that 54 operated Vampires for some time, but did they operate any T11's at all? If so, are there any pictures, or markings I can use to represent one? It isn't life or death, but it would be nice if it was a bit more topical than generic RNZAF ![]() Jen. |

Couldn't find anything in my references, despite just about every other squadron having a T11 on the books. There's some nice options on the new Xtradecal sheet. I'm away for a long weekend, but when I get home l'll post up some walk around and interior shots. peebeep |

Yeah, I thought a squadron hack would be almost inevitable, as like you say, they seem to be common elsewhere. I'm not sure what to do now, I don't really want to stump up for a full sheet as I doubt I'll build another. On the other hand I do think it needs to be RAF really... Jen. |

Couldn't find any pics Jen Sorry. My best guess looking at profiles of contemporary T11s would be as per the kit's overall silver with yellow wing bands and squadron markings with the boom roundel. eg 19 sqn ![]() and 219 sqn ![]() though there were variations eg 56 sqn ![]() from wings palette |

I've just ordered the T11 sheet off Hannants, and also ordered a Hunter sheet with some 54Sqn bars on it ![]() I'm going to whif it in the style of the fighters and put that registration on it using the Vampire sheet. It's not like Andy will ever know the difference ![]() Jen. :edit: Walrus posted just as I did, but yes that's where I'll head with it

You are a bad influence Jen Looking through the Warpaint book revealed some interesting subjects. If I buy more T11 kits I will blame you!

As much as this one has been a pain in the ass (I got a friday one that doesn't fit) I might do more. It's a pretty little thing after all. I'd quite like to see Airfix do a single seater..... Jen. |

Definitely so. There are some really nice possibilities and schemes. The Heller kit is good imho, but we could use a modern update that is more affordable than the Dragon kit. If someone could also do a Sea Vampire conversion all the better! |
