Think I ought to say "Thank you" to Mike who put me on to the Revell airbrush cleaner, it has made such a difference.

Thank you Floyd!

I've been doing one or two small things on this, having a bit of a swear at Airfix too - the tail rotors need a bit more work  due to them forgetting to put the red root on the paint scheme - I forgot it until I came across a picture I took in the dim and distant!
But, as this is a 'get me back into modelling the helicopters I enjoy' build, I thought I would find out whether the AAC folded the main blades. Oh yes - they did! Yippee! Straight from the horses mouth (my Big Brother) apparently they were quite good at doing it too ... But didn't fold the tail.
So I started painting the 'sticks' and broke the bent ones! After the air cleared I decided to replace the 'stick bit' with some welding wire I just happened to have handy :yipee: cut up the bits from the kit, drilled a couple of holes and Bob's your uncle!
Took me all evening mind! The originals did not have the bands on them either, so they are now represented by my friend and yours, masking tape.
I present - the 'sticks':

This is for all you bods named Rich who seem to think it funny that I spend my time with Midgets and Sprites - and Dr Rich we were not far from you ...

On Dartmoor.

Three Frogeye's, one Sprite Mk 3, and my Midget Mk 1 - we had another two Midget Mk 3's which weren't with us at this particular time!

Titter ye not!

Thanks!

Tonight I have been mainly trying to finish the tail rotor.
I forgot to do the leading edge - and so now I have ridges :( so I need to carefully sand them off ...
But even more heinous is the fact that I suddenly realised that Airfix had put the wrong information as to what colour the root of the blade is, I had a picture I took (probably 15 ish years ago) of a Lynx tail rotor which gave me the gen. Knew my slight fettish for tail rotor hubs, and main rotor hubs would come in handy one day
Needs finishing, but here it is:

I've come to the conclusion that decalling is worse than masking :hypnotised:
Got nearly all of the decals on the Lynx, taken me half an age to do it ... it's all the tiny stencils - which have to be hunted for!

But I'm getting there.

Foxy - it was a show display aircraft. Hence the Tiger Meet 2005, tiger tail, and huge 671 Sqn crest.

Looking good H.

But that iPad screen is disgusting. I shall have to send mental round to give one of your midgets a good spanking.

Trouble is Rich - they can't reach!
I saved them the trouble and cleaned it with a spec cleaner this AM - comes of changing the program I'm listening to on R4 extra!

Got a bit distracted last night - it was the OB's birthday, a friend came to take him out of my hair for a while before we met him up t'pub!
In the 1951 Scottish Rally winning car. Apparently he had a ball driving it (especially up the Farnham bypass)!

Looking excellent H - please wish the OB belated HB's

Gosh what a lovely car - it was the 9th RSAC Scottish Rally held between 14th to 18th March 1951 and won by an L.Wood with 380 points and just to keep the lads on their toes, there were three lady drivers taking part as well.

Cheers

Lots of things that I can say are 'iffy' - and some things that Airfix should have got right and didn't!
Enjoyed it despite all the problems though. Learnt lots, and it can only get better.
