Made a start on this yesterday.![]() Short shot heel. ![]() ![]() A familiar face. ![]() Laying turf. ![]() Lots of gap-filling with Squadron White Putty and/or Vallejo Plastic Putty. ![]() ![]() Making sure the holes are lined up. ![]() Lots of warpage so clamps required on everything. ![]() Base coat (pre-shading) down. ![]() Then I find something missing. ![]() The bag was sealed, its not a small piece and I can't find it on or under my bench. So drastic action required ![]() plastic card roughly hewn to bridge the gap. Smothered with Squadron White and sculpted with dental tools. ![]() a bit of sanding required. A rough mock-up, the fence is painted with Tamiya gloss green. ![]()

Done a bit more today, started off with Andrea flesh tones,![]() I put a small dob of each colour on a pallet and took a dip in this and that and dry brushed over the dark base colour. ![]() You'll see I paint the whites of their eyes in this scale, and her lips are still in the darkest flesh tone. ![]() ![]() Her pupils, eyelashes and eyebrows were painted in with GamesWorkshop black ink. I wouldn't normally go for straight black - I like to tone it down with brown - but it seems to work here. In this picture you might see a hairline seam down the horse's leg (with luck). ![]() To lose this I put a drop of Vallejo Plastic Putty on it and smear along with my finger. ![]() and that's before sanding. Tamiya tape on the jump poles. ![]() Capillary action meant the red leeched under (in certain places) and the white had to be re-touched. The horse was sanded down with a file, coarse, medium and fine sandpaper and a nail buffer along all the seams before painting. ![]() I then used a big brush to apply Revell Aqua 361 84 Matt Leather Brown as a sort of primer or base coat. ![]() ![]() ![]() an 'armless impression of the final composition. |

That's definitely one of those kits I wouldn't mind betting that we've all seen for sale, but hardly ever seen one built up! Nice one Ratch,
