Now you just need to open up that vent as well.......

Jen .
Your wish is my command

Fuselage is together now, but huge seams mean a lot of rubbing and filling to come!

On going research has got me thinking that those cowling cut outs and the long mid 20s exhaust I am doing perhaps do not go together... :hmm:

I won't tell if you won't.

cheers

Slow progress these last few weeks, but I have got the fuselage together and evenyually got rid of all signs of the seem!

The rudder has been painted and decalled then, as with the wings, I have used H56 as a base followed by H11 after masking the tapes and stiching.

Next came the masking for the 2 Squadron triangle on the fin. Probably a bit small...

The unmasking went well, just a few bits of clean up required. And here were are ready to start putting it all together.

Unfortunately, work is now going to get in the way. I am off to Italy, the AW site at Vergiate north of Milan to be exact, for the next month. Quite a big hole in the planned modelling time for this year :( . Doing 12hr days 6 days a week doesn't leave me in a good place for modelling. Propping the bar up - yes, modelling - no!

We'll pick this up in July.

ciao

I must say Grant, when you first started this little project I was on the verge of suggesting can it and get a Roden kit, but it's really turning into something rather nice. Once again it demonstrates that any kit is just raw material, it's what you do with it that really counts.

Ooops! July came and went without much effort on the modelling or forum fronts. Adjusting to 'normal' life after a busy aircraft trial and then a weeks holiday in Italy took some doing!

So on the update...

First job was to replace the lower wing supports with some brass, and then do the same for the upper wing.

I also added the Compass to the centre section of the upper wing.

The while putting the upper wing on I taped the wing in place while the glue set...
but despite a couple of layers of matt varnish part of the decal came away. Doh! Still easily fixed, just faff I could do without.

And then it was onto the rigging. Using 100% Elastane, split to about a third it's normal width, I spent 4 evenings getting it all in place. This time it went quite well and the super glue set quickly. I think the temperature and humidity helped a lot.

The Lewis gun mount is a tyre and some spokes from the Flighpath etch brass bicyle kit.

So, finally finished a model for Telford. Phew!
(Just 2 more to build, but another 2 weeks in Italy looming large...)

Thanks for the comments and encouragment during the build.

cheers

Grant

Really enjoyed watching this, so much so that I think I shall pick one up for my lil bi-plane collection. Cracking build, thanks for showing.

Hi Grant I have been quietly watching this as you have gone along and must say that your attention to detail is very good.
I especially like the wicker of the seats and the radiator detail. - Well Done.

Cheers
