Hi there ~ Whilst spending some time at the Helicopter Museum today, I learned why the hedges along the side of the A386 were so far away from the road. The answer it seems, was to allow completed Bristol Beaufort Fighter/Bomber + Hawker Tempest's to be towed down the road before being handed over to the RAF at the local Airfield.
