Hi everyone ~ thought I would have a go at a vinyl figure Not had much experience in vinyl kits before Kit comes in 4 parts ![]() these parts have to be cleaned and then each is dipped in hot water to soften the vinyl so that the flash can be cut and the part correctly shaped to mate with its counterpart ![]() Once correctly dry fitted you can glue the parts together with super glue and fill joints as required. Enamel paints do not bode well with vinyl so acrylic is the paint of choice. I used a rattle can of Holts Auto Spray Acrylic clear plastic primer. This lets me paint light to dark colours without the need to use white So here you can see that I have used Revell Aqua Color No.17 (Africa Brown) ![]() Gradually working to black and greatly diluting the paint with water I could then start to pick out shading etc Last to do was the multi- coloured iris, before coating the model in both gloss UV varnish for the eyes and a matt UV varnish for the rest of the body ![]() |
