Me again! I've got another problem that someone may have come across before My Iwata Sprint Jet is getting really hot - almost too hot for me to put my hand on The reason I'm worried about this, is that due to the heat, the air is very wet! The filter is spitting out too much water on a regular basis, and water is now getting through to the small filter next to the airbrush. Now, as I use water based acrylics I'm not too concerned about a small amount of water in the line, but not this much! So, before I take up loads of Paul Little-Cars' time at the Nationals ... has anyone had a similar problem, and what did they do about it, please? I have knocked the dust out of the inlet foam filtery thing! |

Hi, How long is it on before it gets hot ?? Have you cleared out all the moisture/water in the hoses and moisture trap(s) ? If you are going down to the FAA show you can bring it down and I'll have a look at it there. Paul little-cars |

Thanks Paul, I don't know how long before the first 'spit' I'm too busy spraying! I'll give it a go tomorrow ... after putting all the hoses in the airing cupboard for the night. I have wiped out the filter bowl a few times during spraying, so most of the moisture shouldn't have got through. At the sort of flows I'm using, I would have thought the water should have been spun out, although the baffles in the filter aren't exactly brilliant. Having spent more time than I care to think of sitting watching filters and working out their efficiencies at various flow rates in a previous life, I think the problem is definitely within the compressor! I'll let you know what happens tomorrow, and see you on Saturday Thanks again.Watch this space

The only other thing to check is that you have the thick curly hose between the compressor and the moisture trap and the thinner hose from the hose to the airbrush. Hopefully we can sort it out at the show on Sunday. Ta, Paul |

Thank you Paul Just snuck a little time in ... 20 mins spraying and the compressor is really hot and the first spit of water was at about 10 minutes! Edited by Harriet, Oct 23 2012, 12:58 PM.
