I'm really glad to see this one, as it means the Jag must be getting closer!

There's a review here, although I'd be a little bit circumspect about the five star rating across the board.

Nice to know.
I built the Airfix one many moons ago and still remember it :wooo: ,At the time i thought it was the best aircraft around.

Will be Interesting to hear of how this one pans out. :D

And everyone seems to bash Airfix panel lines?

They look massive!

I have seen images posted elsewhere that give the impression that the panel lines have indented rivets adjacent to them and on a low res image this gives the appearance of a huge panel line. I wouldn't say for certain until I've actually seen a kit in the flesh.

If you have a scroll wheel mouse, hold down ctrl and use the wheel to zoom in. For keyboards hold down ctrl and use the +/- keys. You should be able to see the rivets.

Blimey, the master was made of Lego and scaled down!
Anyone dare me to put this on a certain pre-launch kit bashing forum?

Like it, I think I'll get me one.

Looks ace, not sure I will pick one up though, big bugger but does not really hold anything special for me, and for £35 notes (decent price) I could get say a 1.32 Bf 109. But hey that's just me, who knows when I have built my rather large stash I may cave and pick one up. Looking forward to seeing one or two built.

Oops, guess I'm first then!

Picked up one in Hannants London today.

Panel lines are heavy, with rivetted detail around them all. Tooling and plastic looks very similar to the Airfix Spitfire Vc from a couple of years back.

Interior ribbing and quite a lot going on inside - even an anchor, but I doubt you'll see much once it's all buttoned up!

Fabric effect on the ailerons, elevators and (particularly) rudder looks overly heavy to my eye.

Beaching gear is supplied and a nice photo-booklet of the real machine.

Ordnance consists of 6 RAF Bombs - No Depth Charges/Flares.

Transparencies are clear, although many of the porthole windows have 'dimples'.

Small etched fret and 6 RAF decal options.

I've no doubt some will complain, but it makes the Airfix kit look like the antique it is!

Overall I'd give it 8/10, the let down being the heavy handed panel lines and ribbing on the flying controls. Wonder what it builds like?
