Looking for a D-Type

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a 1:24 Jaguar D Type kit? Love the look of the car, would like to build one.

I've seen one from Lindberg, a reason one from Fisher and a metal one from K&M (I think). Any experience with these? Are there any more out there?

I also saw a conversion from a Revell XKSS, but I'm not quite sure how much effort that'll be.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick
Your best bet is to convert the Revell XKSS. The Lindberg kit is basic and not particularly accrate. I've done a short nose conversion and you're basically looking at the optional rear hump and whether to fair over the passenger seat. Windsreen is also a challenge.

I do have the Fischer resin in the stash as well as a 1/24 slot body (can't recall the manufacturer). I'll get some compare & contrast pics for you...

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the answer! Sounds like it'll be some interesting modelling then. Glad I didn't go for the Lindberg when I saw it!

Compare and contrast photos would be much appreciated, if you have the time.

Cheers,
Nick
