Evening all,

Some of you might have noticed I've been a bit quiet lately. My modelling mojo had all but vanished completely, though it seems to be returning due to the wonders of the Airfix Spitfire I, but also I've been getting out with the camera more. Whilst I haven't done a show yet (first one is at Duxford next week B) ), I have been kept busy. Last weekend, I enjoyed a trip to Dartmoor to shoot the helicopters supporting the Ten Tors event whilst yesterday saw me head up to Yeovilton to catch the Hawks that were taking part in the Queen's Jubilee flypast over Windsor. Here's a few pics to give a falvour of both trips

Outstanding images Shaun (as usual). I'm rather smitten with the stripey Sea King, that would make an excellent model subject. I also have an interest in the Hawks, we have a picture on the squadron wall of our tame Typhoon pilot, Ben, flying one of the 208 birds along the Mach Loop when he was doing fast jet training.

Lovely Shaun

Wouldn't mind building that winter camo Sea King in 1/72

The Seaking does look rather lovely ....
Great stuff as usual Shaun, don't worry about labeling those pics, I can cope with them as they are ... :P

Thanks very much guys

The Arctic Sea king is a particularly photogenic aircraft, no doubt once the Dragon Junglie is released we might start seeing a fair few examples in miniature form. It was the first time my Dad and I had headed down for the Ten Tors event, and we fully enjoyed ourselves. The helos were operating more or less non stop for 6 hours, and the photographic opportunities they presented were quite frankly ridiculous, as you hopefully can tell. Of course, it does help when one of the photographers you're with has a word with the pilots, resulting in some very sporty overhead departures! B)

Was rather pleasing to see the Hawks at VL too. It's been a long time since the pan was so full of jets, brought back a few memories of the good old days. Nice to see the T.2s down here especially, not a type I've seen too much of.

Thanks again,

Shaun :)

Your photography is ridiculously stonking mate!

I have a particular fondness of Junglies for a personal reason and can't wait for the Dragon jobbie to hit the shelves.

These shots will act as fantastic reference for a fair few of us. I just need to figure out which electronic bolt-on gizmos need to left off for a Falklands 846 example...Victor Charlie in particular.

Thanks very muchly for posting Shaun.

I can wait. Dragon/CH previous on British subject matter does not leave me with a feeling of optimism. I'd rather chop up a Revell kit and there will be a re-release later this year, so sensible prices will prevail.

Cheers Rich, you're too kind mate ;) With Yeovilton Air Day a month away, you can expect to see even more Junglie shots from me in the near future B)

As for the CH kit, we shall have to see, though I'll probably end up getting one as, shape issues aside, they are superb kits to build :)
