My latest model to be (almost) finished!

I say almost as I'm just looking for clarification of what the small 'window' is and its appearance on the port fuselage side, under the cockpit, so that I can finish off.

I've read that there are issues with this kit but not being a stickler for spot on accuracy, I think that it turns out OK!

I've used Eduard PE, Pavla Cockpit, used a set of Heritage Aviation Tempest legs and have replaced the kit exhausts and gun barrels with brass tube!
I also rebuilt the rocket rails, as the kit supplied items were a little heavy and have used brass rod for the wingfolds (not accurate but hopefully stronger and better than the kit items)
Finished using Xtracolor enamels and the kit decals (hence black rings around the roundels) apart from the serial numbers and codes although no stencilling is supplied with kit and I didn't have anything suitable so these are missing.

As usual, all criticisms are welcome!

Looks good Tony
The wingfold seems to have come out nicely
The kit parts are also very crude iirc

I need to find one of these for a RAN build. Looks like you have done a great job on yours!

Thanks everyone,
Its much appreciated.

As for the wingfold kit parts, they are crude but I guess that the moulding process would dictate that?

Would think so, it is a pay off between strength to keep the wing up and detail
I seem to remember it was basically a dog legged square section that bore no resemblance to the real thing and I couldn't be bothered (ie lack the ability) to construct something that would not collapse! lol

Is not a bad kit overall though. Probably less work required than the PM versions I have in the stash.

That window that looks like a "Break glass and push button in case of fire" alarm I think could be an emergency canopy opener.

That's my thinking and has seen artwork which shows a 'yellowish' band around the window but haven't found any clear image to confirm either way!

When I do, it will be sorted!

Can confirm based on the similar window on the Hunter that it is an external canopy release.
Knew I had seen one on some other types. The Scimitar has one also. There is indeed a yellow dashed warning band. hth

Thanks for the additional congrats, much appreciated!

Thanks Walrus, I'll get that added over the next couple of days, hopefully I will have something suitable in my Decal Spares to suit!
