Sadly, the Sea Vixen has suffered a collapsed nose gear on landing today at Bournemouth. Fortunately, the pilot was completely uninjured, and the aircraft appears to have received relatively little damage, though no details of the extent of the damage have been published as yet

Pretty gutting news :( The best classic jet on the display circuit by a mile for me, hopefully it won't be too long before she returns to the air.

Indeed :(

Some better images of the incident have been posted today over on Fighter Control.

It seems the pilot, Simon Hargreaves, has done a superb job up keeping the nose up as long as possible, which in turn has resulted in relatively minor damage. A great save, and fingers crossed she'll be right and ready sooner rather than later :)
