Can of worms indeed, Our group has had many talks on the colours of thease aircraft, thats why I said Green /Grey for this aircraft lol .I know the pitfalls on trying to explain on the Japanese aircraft. As has been said Nicks blog is the near-est to the correct colours .Sorry I never made this clear in my first posting on this subject .Edited by foxy, Mar 4 2012, 06:39 PM.

Hiya Foxy. I think the only thing that is clear about the early Zero colours, is it's not clear at all. rich |

@ Jamie, in true modeller style, I have had the kit in my stash for some time, 3 or 4 years probably. I'd imagine getting hold of one now would be next to impossible ![]() Jen. |

One of the great mysteries of life, a near perfect product, save for the fact you can't buy one. All is not least, I've seen a couple of reports that would suggest the new Tamiya is engineered such that other versions seem to be possible. peebeep |

It's a very strange situation indeed Paul. I'm surprised they haven't done a second run of the magazine, or come to some arrangement with FM to allow it being added to the FM range. Looking at current FM prices it would probably come out at around £20, bang on the RRP being listed for the new Tamiya. This would give us a top notch M2 and M5. The FM one, again done with modelgraphix(?) had an undersized cowling, so there would be little point in re-releasing that kit. I can only hope they do release other versions, but using their 1/48th ones as a bench mark I have little hope of it. The M5 was released first, and has only just been followed by the M3. Tamiya have so far resisted updating the M2 to the new moulds. Of corse we still have the Hasegawa kits in 72nd and 48th, which are both pretty good, if a little lacking in cockpit detail. Hi Jen That's a lovely pair.... of Zeros Quick question have we have had the thoughts of a Japanese person on the colour of early war Zero's. I have seen the recovered panel on which much of the caramel debate is based upon and I have also done a couple of Zero's with this colour I would however like to do a zero in the almost white scheme which has now become unpopular? All the best Vince |

very impressive the FM kit displays a higer level of detail and crispness compared to the airfix kit. I must say that you have really done a great job. |
