Having handled the plastic in my grubby paws the other week I'm rather looking forward to these.

I didn't take much notice of the 109 at Yeovilton, but the Spitfire looks really nice.

I do love the art work on these new boxes.

As the camo Spit option the one on the my business card case, I guess I'll be getting one of them

I do love the art work on these new boxes.
They also come with a subliminal message - 'buy me'! The combination of artwork and seductive packaging is such that I have to resist the urge to buy stuff I know to be tat.

Apologies to Rich for the degradation of the images, originals were much sharper but Photobucket has softened 'em up.

Skyhawk box art now up on the Airfix website, so hopefully it will be out by the end of March, which was when Darrel Burge was hoping it would be available:

Thanks Paul

Not the scheme I wanted but I think that is for an A-4C
Am a tad confused as I can't see any A-4P mentioned in an article in MAM Dec2005 (4:12)
The FAA received some upgraded A4-Bs from the USA designated A-4Q

Also at the time stated (May 1982) it says there were 24 A-4Bs deployed at Rio Gallegos.

What is the dark grey sprue above the Skyhawk in the later photos looks like fast packs from here.

Somebody else thought that, but they're actually Swordfish floats!

For me, the best variant is the full-fat N with the hump, and the extended jet pipe. I hope at least an F variant comes out, to allow conversion. Still, you can do US, Argie and Singapore AF from the B/P variants. The Argentinian colours look pretty cool (maybe it will be a kit option?)

BTW, as a matter of interest, the Israeli ones are about to be retired early due to a maintenance scandal. http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/Israels-Skyhawk-Scandal-05105/

BTW, slightly OT, but Hobbycraft have the Defiant on sale for £2.99. A last gasp run before a new Defiant? It would make sense, as BoB aircraft always seem to do well, and it was a popular aircraft model.

Not sure it's all photobucket Paul. I was getting some camera shake as I didn't want to use flash. VR is good, but it ain't that good, LOL.

A-4P was the FAA (Air Force) model, A-4Q was the CANA (Navy) model, both based on the A-4B

Thanks Dave
Seems that the article got the designation incorrect
Would I be correct in thinking that the main difference between the A an B variants is the ovoid antenna on top of the fuselage?

Thing is, when it comes down to it, to be prosaic really, we're seeing excellent new kits, at reasonable prices, from a company that at one point was basically written off. It's a great (if expensive) time to be a modeller.
