I always seem to take an instant dislike to a/c with the almost obligatory 'canopies up' to show what a superb job someone has done only to see that there are no canopy rear view mirrors in place where there should be.

Just my opinion, what do you think?

My personal pet peeve is when someone weathers the stuffing out of an airplane but then leave the canopy perfectly clean after they dipped in in Future/Klear.

Doesn't worry me overmuch how someone chooses to finish their kit
tbh When I struggle to get any modelling done and complete a model, am not sure I have the right to criticise someone else's foibles.

I like the one where a model plane has really muddy tyres and then a spotlessly clean underside :)

For me it's overweathering.
Aeroplanes (generally speaking) do not have black panel lines (although I accept weathering is a matter of personal taste) but I really dislike it when a model has been weathered before decal application.

I sometimes see models, brilliantly built, in the mags, but with every panel line in black. Makes it look like a cartoon. Real weathering tends to be a gaggle of shades of a number of colours (although, generally grey).

Every WWII German plane described as a "nazi"plane. The plane may have been built by them or flown by them but it, in itself, is not a "nazi".

If that was the case how come you never heard of American planes being republican or the other ones or British planes being conservative or labour?

I call them Nazi because that is the ideology that (I perceive) the Allies to have been fighting against. There were Germans who were rounded up and gassed and the planes had not a lot to do with them imho

I apologise if a simple distinction between nationality and an odious ideology should cause offence.
Ditto any stupid gaffs assembling and painting a plastic model kit.

Sometimes I disagree with the skill level assigned to some models in certain publications.

Sometimes I think "beginner eh? WTF am I doing wrong!?".

Red crowbars in wartime Spitfire doors.
Black "pre-shaded" panel lines, making the model look like a patchwork quilt.
Powder stains, from gun muzzles, which stretch across the wings and off the trailing edges.
"Weathering" which looks as though the aircraft has been standing under a sewage outfall.

The carpet monster. :monster:
My inability to match the finished kit to how I originally saw it in my mind, when I start. :fraidnot:
Thinking that I have finally cracked a particular technic only to loose that ability on the very next build :uxb:

I'd like to second that very sentiment/sentiments.
