Anyone shed any light on this?
From what I can work out, Gunze Mr.Color C351 is Zinc Chromate Type 1.
Is Mr.Color the enamel/lacquer range from Gunze? and is it available in the UK? MDC don't seem to carry them, they only have the Aqueous(Acrylic) range.

Would you concur that Tamiya XF-4 Yellow Green be a good match?

your thoughts .....?

not sure on the match Mike but you are correct MDC only carry the acrylic range (apart from the metallic colours)

Bit of a how long is a bit of string question Mike, as there are so many different shades that modellers like to refer to as ZC. What is it for?

351 is part of an interior colour set and you can obtain the set from various outlets in the US. As Jen says which ZC? It could be variously yellow/lemon yellow, yellow green, green, or er, salmon pink.

Thought that might be the case.

It is for the interior of the TBD-1 Devastator. Though I have since found that it could rather be Aluminium lacquer/silver interior for early/pre-war TBD's, or so it says with photographic evidence in the Squadron/Signal "In action" book.

In that case, assuming it is the standard USN colour, and not the Darker type that Grumman used, it would be H58 :)
