Pretty painful viewing for me it has to be said.....could do with a dislike emoticon :(

Of all the jets that had been retired, two will make it into UK museums. The RAF museum at Cosford is now home to ZG477, the 1 Sqn retirement special, whilst the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton has received ZD433, another 1 Sqn bird, complete with mission markings, and a jet I shot at Cottesmore when I went up to see them for the last time.

Not sure if it'll be on public display by the time the FAAM model show comes round, but would be nice to see.

Cheers

I'm just reading Sharkey Ward's book, in the updated preface he still rates the FA2 as equipment that could beat the pants off of most threats and the loss of the Harrier fleet as 'reducing the UK to a third world nation'. The USMC must be totally delighted to receive so many machines at bargain basement prices.

Bah, humbug, etc etc.

I think the scrapping of the Harrier fleet may may well go down as one of the worst defence decisions the UK has ever made.
