Yep, as I thought, it seems to be based on their bigger ones. Not quite as fine as the Fine Molds one, but certainly a cut above the Airfix and Hasegawa offerings.

I can see myself picking one up when they make it over here.

Jen.

P.S. Love the random pic of Diamond Head at the end of that post :)

Looks very nice though there are a surprising number of injection pin marks for a Tamiya kit. Interesting that Tamiya are apparently following Airfix's example with the P-40 by thinning the fuselage sidewalls around the cockpit and producing sidewall detail in relief.

Interesting and instructive to see a new Tamiya 1/72 offering being subjected to the same harsh macro-zoom scrutiny that seems to get Airfix offerings routinely panned on a certain other website.

Never let a lack of actual kit get in the way of an opinion - someone texted me to say they read a claim on a web site that the non-existant Italeri 1/48 Merlin was better than the Airfix kit that hasn't even been released yet!

Bring it on. Looking forward to this immensely, even in 1/72nd.

I think my Zero fetish may be getting out of control :sofa:
